Failed, September, 2018
I have been with State Farm Insurance good or bad for over 30 years. My current house has been covered since 1997 by them. The only claim made was a grease fire in January of this year which cost around $6,000.00. Consider my surprise when I received a notice now cancelling my home owners insurance due to that one claim. I may be wrong, but apparently this is not a company that is looking beyond the bottom line. I am not sure what the trigger was for this, since one claim seems a bit of over kill. Maybe due to the fact that I have really had no major claims in all these years, I did not realize how bad of a company State Farm was. So now I research new home owners insurance and my auto will move also. It will cost me to move the auto insurance, but peace of mind is more important. Please share my message to hopefully help others.
INSURANCE HOLDERS BEWARE, April, 2018
State Farm Insurance policy holders BEWARE!!! I have been a policy holder with State Farm for 35 years. I currently have my home, RV and 3 vehicles insured through them Yesterday I was notified that they would not be renewing my home owners insurance as I have had 4 claims in the last 18 years... REALLY!!!!! I thought you paid insurance in case something ever happens... GUESS NOT WITH STATE FARM!! Well, I am now pulling ALL of my policies with State Farm as well as 10 of my family members... STATE FARM IS A JOKE!!! They are quick to take my money for 35 years!!!! I would give a -10 on star ratings if they had one!!!!!!!
One claim in 45 years, no payment, November, 2014
We've had State Farm for 45 years, 25 of them in the current house. Ice backed up in our gutters allowing water in to the attic. This caused the decking in the roof to split when the temperature dropped, and also caused mold to develop. The adjuster stood in our attic and said "You're going to have to prove to me that you have a loss." I asked him what he thought he was looking at, and he tried to tell me that the reason the was from a design flaw. I asked, "So why didn't we have a problem with this design flaw in the first 24 years?" Then he said that, even if I had a fire that was covered, and mold developed because the fire department had to pump in water, the mold isn't covered.(So heads up - if you're a State Farm customer and your house catches on fire, you're better off letting it burn to the ground.) Here's the best part: they told us to hire a company to come in and dry out the attic, and they'd pay for it. We did, and then got a letter saying "Since State Farm has denied your claim, you are responsible for payment of our bill." News to us! A woman at our agents office said, "This is showing that your claim is still OPEN - so why don't you follow up with our Home Office?" I asked to speak with the agent. About 15 minutes later, we got a call from him, and he told us that the claim had been denied. (So the person who answered the phone in his office 15 minutes earlier, had lied to us.) We asked for a copy of the denial notice, which he faxed to us. The original copy came from State Farm's home office 3 weeks later, postmarked 18 days after we got the letter from from the remediation company saying that the claim had been denied. That was my first and last experience with State Farm.
Disappointed 20 year customer, June, 2015
I have been a customer for 20 years for both home and multiple autos. I have had three claims on my home over the last 20 years and only one that ended up in a payment of $1200. The other two were not covered so I took care of them on my own. I just received a letter stating my home coverage was being dropped because of too many claims. My agent thought it as crazy and contacted the main office. They eventually agreed to keep meet on as a client but would raise my deductible to cover the cost of a new roof. Once I replace the roof on my own they will reduce my deductible and cover it. All I can say is wow, really? I'm in the process of looking for another insurance company. Why pay insurance to someone like State Farm if they aren't even planning to cover anything? Don't use State Farm for home insurance. You'll only be throwing your money away.
State Farm is unfair, untrue, untrustable, May, 2012
We have been a customer of State Farm for 23 years. On 2009 we needed to place two claims to repair a burst frozen pipe and damages a racoon did to the roof of our property. In 23 years only 3 claims were filed and on all 3 of them we submitted all the quotes and supporting evidence they required. Now, on 2012, they are claiming we never submitted the final evidence requested which we did, all of it, they have it and they know it and, they are not re-newing our policy. If we did not submitted the evidence they would not have been able to give us the second payment of the claim as they did. State Farm is being trying to cancel Homeowners policies for the last years and they are taking vary unfair steps to get to their purpose. They are damaging the image of responsable, honest people like us manipulating information in their records to achive what they want. What they are doing is the most unrespectful, unforgivable business actions. They should not be operating in the insurance market with their abusive wrong doings.
Time to shop around, July, 2012
We've had our homeowners and all of our vehicles insured with State Farm for over twenty years now. Filed ONE claim on our home due to storm/tornado damage and every year since then our premium has steadily gone up. Our premiums are now so high that the time has come where we can no longer afford them and we have started shopping around for better rates. We also had issues when we filed our claim and they only wanted to pay to repair sections of our roof rather than all of it. We had to fight long and hard to get them to pay for our whole roof to be replaced due to hail damage which is ridiculous. I don't think I'd ever want to have to deal if them again should we ever need to file another claim. Way too much of a hassle and overall I think they price gouge people too.
disappointed with statefarm, April, 2013
have been a customer with statefarm insurance for over 19yrs after 1 hurricane blew roofing shingles and siding off my house the next year a second storm blew off my sunsetter shade. The following year a busted water heater leaked into my closet so in a span of 3 yrs I had to file 3 claims and was immediately notified my insurance would not be renewed. After 19yrs of paying my insurance on time I was now uninsurable. I now have to caution people choose statefarm insurance at your own risk. Its only there for you if you don't ever have to use it three strikes and you are out no matter how much you may have paid into this company or what your history was . This company has no loyalty to its customers
15+ years and I'm leaving them, December, 2015
State Farm was really good as long as I was paying them money and asking for nothing in return. Once I had to file a claim they became horrible. As soon as my current claim (it's take over 2 months to settle) is over I'm finding another insurance company.
Do Not Trust State Farm!!, June, 2016
Was with State Farm for 18 years (policies included home, and 4-5 vehicles at various times), no claims ever filed on any policy. Roof was damaged in a large hail storm, and over the course of 4 years was verified by 3 roofers, one brought in by State Farm to insure no bias. Photos were taken showing all the damage, and the claim was denied. Shame on you State Farm!! You take peoples hard earned money, do nothing for it, and find any reason you can possibly pull out of the thin air to deny their claim. Do not trust them like I did!! I am now with Farmers's, using the same coverage only better than I had with State Farm and they saved me enough money to cover my Home Owner's Policy each year compared to what I was paying with State Farm!! Run from this company as fast as you can. Just Google State Farm Sucks and see how many people have been taken advantage of by this company. Even the industry ranks them as the top company to refuse to pay out claims.
Increased Premium, March, 2015
Been a customer of State Farm Insurance in 3 states for a total of 42 years. No accidents and no home claims that were my fault. Premiums continue to increase every year so started to look at other insurance carriers. Found I could save $1600.00 per year with another carrier that has a very good satisfaction rating with the Texas Department of Insurance. This is an obvious no brainer.
Do not insure with State Farm, May, 2013
After making a claim the company cancelled my insurance policy even though they didn't even pay out. I had been a policy holder for more than 20 years and this is the way they treat policyholders. DO NOT INSURE WITH STATE FARM!
State Farm and Townhouses, July, 2012
I believe that State Farm inches up the premiums over time with no explanation. This leads me to wonder what we could be paying elsewhere.
Like a good neighbor state farm is NOT there!!, January, 2016
So I have been a customer with state farm for 40+ years. I have homeowners insurance and car insurance through them. My son and daughter live with me and also have had state farm for over 15+ years. My son went to pay his surcharge for a ticket he got and motor vehicle put the payment towards his registration which put his license as suspended. He wasn't aware it was suspended until pulled over from a officer. The officer notified him and my son showed him the receipt from motor vehicle that he paid. The officer gave him no ticket and he contacted motor vehicle. He was supposed to be suspended for 6 months but due to mishaps they restored his license a week later. State farm saw he was diving on a suspended license and canceled him. Now they are trying to cancel EVERYONES POLICY that lives in my house including my homeowners insurance and car! After being with them 40+ years and paying my bill on time for the past 40 years and being a loyal company they fuck you!! BEWARE!!!!!
Cost of policy has increased every. It has more than doubled in price in five years. The deductible has increased more than double.
Non-renewal, April, 2013
After 13 years with compay and even though two other properties insured with State Farm as well as four automobiles, we were denied renewal on the grounds that we were more than 12 minutes from a fire station. Nothing has changed in 13 years, only the insurance company. We have a fire hydrant on the property, a 15,000 gal. swimming pool, and two 2,500 gal. water storage tanks and the approval of the county Fir Marshall, yet nothing has helped sway State Farm.
Auto (95%), Home (50%), January, 2018
I'm 30+ yr member of State Farm Mutual. I've never had an Auto claims problem. My agent and his office has been exceptional.
However, since filing my first home claim roof then foundation claim, I feel that I've been jacked/screwed and every other adjective. St. Farm obviously hates paying out on home claims and have become money hungry and pays NO mind to its loyal customers. My adjuster made us feel like I was putting State Farm out by asking them to pay on my claim.
My foundation claim was closed even though I specifically asked them not to close it.
Because of State Farm neglect to listen to the home owner, my home's foundation is worse to the point that the trust in the attic has come completely loose.
I've been praying that a lawyer doesn't have to get involved but I refuse to allow someone to take advantage of me without fighting back.
This is not the State Farm that I first began with. Before It was like a "Good neighbor". Not now. Not in the homeowners claims arena.
cost, February, 2014
premium has risen 46% in 4 yr with no claims, with farm bureau previous 28 yr with 2 minor claims less than 2500.00 total
HORRIBLE CLAIMS SERVICE, June, 2016
State Farm was ranked as one of the WORST insurance companies in the nation by Consumer Reports recently. Now we know why. We filed a claim for hail damage to our home. 3 contractors all came up with similar estimates. But State Farm refused to pay for several items needed to restore our roof. Adjuster was disrespectful and straight up lied to us. We will be taking our business elsewhere after this nightmare is over. State Farm is there alright...to rip you off and take your premiums. But when you need them to cover damages, they are no where to be found!
Robin Hines, November, 2012
I have not shopped around for other coverage and have been with State Farm since I purchased the house. I would like to see if there are more companies that offer the same service at a more competitive price.
Insurance is getting too expensive, February, 2013
Although pleased with State Farm service, their policy is getting too expensive in this economy with 2 kids in college and a parent in a nursing home. Looking to get a policy that is as good at a cheaper price.
continually increasing premiums, May, 2015
state farm has great insurance, great customer service but have continually increased their rates year after year so I am looking for better rates
Get quotes, July, 2014
I was with State Farm for over 10 years. My homeowners keep going up without claims. Call the agent, same excuse, prices are up. My 1st quote. Home & auto. $670 savings!! I will never return!!
Too Many Rate Hikes, June, 2013
SF just recently was given an 18% rate hike Premiums are now too high to afford
Denied claim for not having a heat in a storage , February, 2014
After making the claim they ask not to touch anything told us insurance will cover after almost 30 days adjuster show up and denied coverage for not having a heater on in a storage unit at the time the water pipe burst, now 30 days latter we have mold all over the place did not clean up the water due to the fact that they said do not touch anything we will cover it all but almost 30 days latter an adjuster come out and say your claim is being denied for not having a heater on a empty storage unit used only to store items apparently because of that you wont be covered been with the insurance for 10 years never made a claim before now due to the fact that the place was wet for almost 30 days we not only have damages but also mold
Rude Claims Dept Stonewalls Paying Claims, April, 2015
A neighbor's tree fell and damaged the aluminum siding on one side of our house. The siding State Farm located for us was not the same dimension as what was on our house and would not have been able to lock into the existing, older siding. This, according to contractors who work with aluminum siding, would cause the new siding to detach from the house in a relatively short period of time. Despite this, State Farm would only agree to put up new siding on the damaged side of the house. It took 10 months of phone calls to them and getting my sales agent involved before they finally agreed to replace all the siding. State Farm repeated sent out people who knew nothing about aluminum siding whose mantra became "put it up and we'll see how it looks," totally disregarding the fact that it was a functional issue, not an aesthetic one. It took 14 months before they finally released all the funds for making the repairs. Their estimates for the work we needed done were ridiculously low. As an example, we had one of our wooden shingles damaged. To replace one pair and paint all of the others (7) on the front of the house cost $850. State Farm gave us $68 for that. In addition, the (many) claims people with whom I spoke over the course of 10 months were unhelpful and terribly rude. Stay away from State Farm!
Cost, May, 2012
Cost increaased last year by almost 100%. I did not appreciate such a major increase. Looking for a better deal for my home owners insurance.
Looking at the cost, April, 2012
They seen to have gone up every year for the same coverage, Good company, but I can't afford them anymore
Looking for more competitive pricing, January, 2013
Every year our premium increases and it's based upon State Farm's automatic property value increases. our property values are continuing to decrease in Flagler County. This is just not acceptable!!
I've been dropped!, July, 2012
After 40 years of coverage I've been dropped because State Farm thinks I live too close to water! But neither I nor any neighbors have ever had damage from that water or any storms.
State Farm drops you without a basis, July, 2015
After 35 + years of Home Owners Insurance; State Farm drops me as there was one (1) claim in last five years. The whole area had Hail and Freeze issues; and State farm drops me while have Guaranteed Renewal Policy on Autos. Drop me on Umbrella - no reason at all.
shifty company, June, 2015
worst co I had to deal with and untrustworthy .wiggles their way out of paying a claim on my ice damming claiming it was an inherent defect, whatever
State Farm, June, 2014
I have been with State Farm many years, and all was well until insurance rates went nuts. Like from 300 dollars a year to 1600. How long do executive yachts have to be?
looking for lower rate, February, 2013
increase cost i need to examine other opp0rtunities
Wont ever give them another dime, February, 2015
State Farm cancelled my insurance for having 2 hail claims in 14 years. Never paid late and was a loyal customer from day 1. Did the same thing to several other people I know. Horrible company, raising premiums every year, no loyalty. I will never give them another dime and I'll tell everyone know what a horrible company they are.
Cost and Deductable, December, 2012
Over the years the premium cost hss increased and for a retired fixed income like me I must compare the prices
Non-renewal home insurance, August, 2012
We made a claim for water damage and state farm denied home insyrance coverage until august 20 2012

State Farm Insurance is costly, October, 2014
State Farm has good service but is costly when compared to the competition
Maybe there is cheaper rates available., August, 2014
we will see who can provide a better price...
I like my agent, April, 2012
I like my agent and would never get rid of state farm. I have home, car and motorcycle. my daughter will be driving soon and I will be adding her as well
Pays only a fraction of repairs, July, 2015
My folks have been with State Farm for over 50 years. Their home was damaged in the tornado and hail storms of May 2015.
Their policy premium includes additional coverage for full replacement. After the storm, State farm only paid about 10 percent of the actual damages, which was in the tens of thousands. Elderly people on a fixed income can't afford to pay out of pocket what State Farm should have been covering.
satisfied customer, January, 2012
I'M VERY PLEASED W/ MY RENTERS INSURANCE COMPANY
MY AGENT IS GREAT, HIS OFFICE STAFF IS WONDERFUL AND PEOPLE FRIENDLY,

Home Ins, March, 2012
We are very happy with State Farm Insurance Company. Our Agent is Mr.Evert( Blackie ) Gibson his office all of his staff and Blackie are very good
They weren't there for me., March, 2019
I had State Farm for over ten years. I never missed a payment and never had an issue. When my house burnt, it was devastating. They wouldn't talk to me, wouldn't help me, and acted like I was at fault from the beginning even though I wasn't even home. After them dragging their feet for six months of perfect weather when I could have rebuilt, they finally gave me a little money for the house and released me to work on the house. They expected me to be able to get a contractor to build during the worst part of winter when no one would take a contract. Then, I received notification that I was being kicked out of my temporary residence even though I still had a year left on the contract. They basically told me too bad. I contacted the insurance board in my state, but State Farm lied to them and the board won't help me. So, not only do I not get the money I paid for all of these years, my wife and I are now homeless. Save your money. I could have put my payments in a savings account and had less hassle than dealing with State Farm. They're thieves. Never again.
Filed claim, now they won't cover new home, May, 2018
After 37 years of having Homeowners Insurance, we filed our first claim ever after an oven fire. The fire was contained in the oven, but there was extensive smoke damage. This was one month ago and we were in the process of putting our home on the market for a relocation. State Farm response was wonderful - so easy and nice to work with, seemed understanding and happy to help us!
But, then the cleanup was complete and our home was listed for sale. We found a new home in a new state. We contacted State Farm to cover our new home. We were told they would not cover us due to the claim we just had. One claim in 37 years and they would not cover us anymore! As good as they were to us during the cleanup process, they are now rid of us and we are having difficulty finding coverage. Oh - and there was one comment to me (from the adjuster!) about our agent "crying" over this claim!
At our age, having good credit ratings, never having missed payments for all these years, we are struggling to believe this is how insurance companies work. How greedy, callous and wrong of them! We haven't always had State Farm and never will again.
I have never had good feeling or opinions about insurance companies. I've said more than once that insurance (of any kind) seemed to be a grand scale scam. I had almost changed my mind due to the good response and help we had during the cleanup process.
However, their decision that we are now too high risk to cover has just confirmed my long-time feelings and opinion. This is why people don't like or trust this business.
We found coverage. I'm thankful for that. And I'm sure all insurance companies are the same, but - if you're considering State Farm - think again!! They are NOT a good neighbor. They were there and now they're not. Or - at least, don't ever have an accident and file a claim.
Horrible claims process, August, 2017
The vinyl siding on the house had been damaged on one side by hail. They would only pay for the one side even though a piece of the old siding had been found in the garage and when held up to the installed siding, it was grossly different. Their process is that you have to INSTALL THE ONE SIDE, TAKE PICTURES, AND THEN THEY WILL SEE IF THEY MIGHT DO SOMETHING ELSE!! Wow, this is so STUPID! You can see the difference without installing the new product. Horrible insurance company!!
Two claims and neither was properly handled, August, 2017
My husband and I have had State Farm for over 6 years, when we bought our home in 2010. We have two cars insurance, one with liability and one with full coverage. Daughter had a wreck in the newer car in June and they gave us a quote to fix the vehicle with "Used (possibly from a junk yard)" parts. That's how it's stated on our claim. They handed us 2,000.00 for that one when the actual cost of repairs to the car was going to be 4500.00 (cheapest of three quotes by auto body shops that are known to be reliable). The adjuster's itemization of the repair costs did NOT including repairing the INSIDE of the door that was crushed, ONLY the panel on the outside of the door. Needless to say, I didn't consider that safe, so we ended up up-side-down on a new loan to make sure our kids were riding in a vehicle that was actually safe instead of a "cheaper but dangerous makeover." The home owners claim is still in progress as I type this BUT, its looking to end up the same way as the car. Personal property damaged/lost totaled around 7,500... state farm is giving us 490.00 to try and replace the stuff with a cap of 954.00 AFTER receipt reimbursement. We have 100k in personal property protection. This will more than likely end up in court. Please protect yourselves and your families and find another insurance company. I have NO IDEA how they have an A+ rating on this site with all of the negative reviews.
Hands down-BEST Company around, March, 2017
After 3 Tornadoes, there has never been another company that came quickly to our aid than State Farm and had all of their clients taken care of and paid!!
Don’t expect State Farm to be there for you!, February, 2017
After years as a loyal customers going back 3 & 4 Generations (60 plus yrs.). Our parents, siblings, children even my wife’s grand farther was a State Farm agent years back, all were loyal customers, but the company has changed for the worse, don’t expect any Loyalty from State Farm today, I have totally lost any trust in them that I once had. After informing our family about our latest disaster with State Farm, we all are looking for other insurance companies to change to.
We had noticed water damage inside our home where the roof was leaking, The adjuster had inspected our roof and the water damage, he said it had appeared we had wind damage and some hail damage, but was not sever enough, part of the roof leaks came from vent pipe cover gaskets which is considered mechanical and the rooted roof decking from bad singles were not covered by insurance. State Farm recommended to do patch work and place temporary vent. We had several roofers come out and give estimates, all said the roof was totaled. Certified inspector come out and he said it was totaled, so we had State Farm adjuster (which turned out to be the adjuster) come back out to inspect with the certified inspector but you could tell he had his mind made up before even arrived. My State Farm rep. he recommend another certified inspector, which he too said the roof was totaled, I told the State Farm adjusters I was considering changing insurance companies, they said I shouldn’t do that for other insurance companies probably would not cover the house due to the condition of the roof. That I should just hang tight for there probably be another hail storm in the next year or two and at that time State Farm would probably cover then. Well we decided to go ahead and do the job right by replace roof completely and pay it out of our pocket after looking at cost/deductible/inconvenience and possible other damage that could occur if it were to leak somewhere else
Senior Citizens Beware, August, 2016
My elderly disabled parents have been with State Farm for more than fifty years with very few claims. They recently filed a claim to have their roof replaced. They had filed a claim following Katrina and received roughly half the replacement cost and had the worse of the damage replaced. Now the roof must be replaced for $14,000., more than twice the previously awarded cost, and State Farm refuses to pay any of it. This is certainly no way to treat an 88 year old, 100% disabled blind Korean War Veteran whose been a customer for 50 years. I am referring them and all eligible seniors to USAA, where I know they will be treated much better.
Never Again, June, 2016
I got homeowners insurance and less than 2 months they cut it off saying there not covering my home because I have a spare tire and bicycles in front of my house.. umm how about I have 4 children and where they place their bikes is our choice not yours.. I would never recommend this agency to Anyone ever.. better choice to just go elsewhere.. I'm pissed because of their stupidity. Oh wait they were upset because I had a cooler out there too lol Seriously?
Change my premium before I started!, January, 2016
I decided to change my condo insurance after my premiums went up over the years. State farm had the best price for what I needed. I agreed to the quote and plan and paid the bill in full. Then a week later I got a bill saying my premium is actually higher than the quote. Who raises the rate before I have even started! No one has called or contacted me to discuss this and every time I call, they are closed or I get the automatic system. Already disappointed.
Satisfied client, October, 2015
With State Farm since 1980 for home and cars Have been very satisfied with their service I like my agent and its staff All are very nice, responsive people. 2 claims on the house (one large tree fell on it). A couple of minor car accidents over the years. No problem with the claims Recently I reviewed all my policies with my agent Before I met with him I made phone calls to get quotes from other companies I didn t feel I was getting a better deal Plus I go by what others tell me about their own companies I prefer to stay with SF
Seriously? After 23 years?, September, 2015
My home has been with State Farm since I purchased it 23 years ago, and my cars for the past 16(?) years. I got a letter two weeks ago stating that they aren't renewing my homeowners policy because I've had 2 roof claims (hail damage) in 4 years. It was their agents who climbed on my roof and told me I needed it replaced, TWICE! I didn't take a sledge hammer to my roof and damage it! Hail (an act of nature, not homeowner) caused my damage! So I'm supposed to pay my insurance premiums, but I'm not supposed to actually USE my insurance? Got it! And in all of those years, I have NEVER had a call from or a face-to-face conversation with Bob Watson, my "insurance agent." I'm not convinced he actually exists. I think the nice ladies at the office have just made him up! Tabitha - you are awesome, though! Thanks for being so nice to me and giving me some direction. Maybe consider moving to an employer who isn't completely devoid of customer commitment and loyalty.
Too high, August, 2015
Fifty years, no claims, and my insurance doubles!!!!!!
VERY GOOD COMPANY, April, 2015
BEEN VERY GOOD TO ME UNTIL THEY WON'T INSURE MY HOME FOR WHAT IT IS WORTH
Must have auto insurance to get homeowners, March, 2015
I am recently remarried. My wife and I are refinancing our house to a 15-year mortgage. the All State auto insurance is high. We changed to Geico, but All State said their policy is that we must have at least 1 auto insured with them or they will cancel our homeowners.
Cancelation Of Policy Renewal, May, 2014
I am very disappointment in State Farm for my notice of cancelation of policy because of two claims that could not be helped do to Flood Damage and Power Outage with loss of $710.00 for the two claims in question. This has caused me to look for other means of property INS for my Home before the cancelation period.
Made 2 claims i they were back to back my air conditioning system leaking water got black moldd than after everything was fixed hot water heater blew than had on top of it I had a 1000deductible and the second claim was minor honestly I didn't put second claim in thinking I would get dropped people put major claims in these were a total odd 14000 and I got dropped I had my previous insurance for 12 years a never made a claim question why do we pay so much for homeowners ins and can't make a claim
bet state farm rate and i may be switch

Not a Good Neighbor anymore..., June, 2013
I have been with State Farm since I first became a homeowner in 1983. "State Farm..Like a Good Neighbor, State Farm is There".....Well not anymore. My good neighbor dumped me. I live too close to the river in Florida.
Price review, June, 2013
Policy payments are increasing every year. Although I am really satisfied with State Farm. I'm afraid that I can't afford the payments. I don't want to change.
Home owners policy dropped because of 2 claims, June, 2013
Solid company. They were extremely helpful and fast acting on my two claims. Unfortunately they dropped me after having all my insurance coverage; auto, home, and life insurance for 33 years. Most likely they will completely lose me because bundling policies is usually cheaper. Guess there is no money in loyal customers. I will look for a new home.
My only complaint is the cost. The renewal went up quite a bit.
STATE FARM, April, 2013
OVERALL VERY SATISFIED, AFTER HAVING A CLAIM THEY WANTED TO RAISE MY DEDUCTABLE FROM $4000 TO $8000 TO HELP COVER THE LOSS FOR THE FUTURE, WE BUY INSUREANCE AND PAY PREMIUMS IN CASE WE NEED TO MAKE A CLAIM AND THEN THEY DOUBLE OUR DEDUCTABLE. THEY DO NOT SEEM TO BE CONCERNED THAT WE HAD A LEGITAMATE LOSS, BUT TO MAKE US PAY MORE FOR A SECOND LOSS IF THAT WERE TO OCCUR.
State FarmReview, April, 2013
Company had better prices when policy was written but since have become outrageous in 5 years...
Why my policy was canceled, March, 2013
After 9 years with State Farm they choose to cancel my policy due to a technicality where they requested form me proof of renter but failed to send to my home address or call my cell for the information. I called them checking on adding another home and found out that my renters policy was due for cancelation. I informed them over the phone that I had a renter and they requested a copy of the least which i faxed to them and i call to verify everything was ok and they said everything was fine then they called back and said my policy was being canceled due to receiving the lease after deadline,.
mother of the house, February, 2013
After being with the same agent for over 20 years we were dropped after filing a claim due to water damage. From what I am reading, they are trying to cut all costs. So they will take your money but when it comes time to pay a claim they will drop you in a heartbeat no matter how loyal you have been.
Premiums have continued to escalate even after raising dedutibles yearly with no claims filed since 1998. I did not want to have to shop State Farm, but they have given me no choice.
My insurance went up every year not satisfied with co. prices.maybe someone else may like them better but I do not like the appraiser neither does my neighbor.
Cost, August, 2012
Because of the economy I must find ways to save money. The insurance is too high and needs to be lowered.
lower cost, August, 2012
I need to lower costs and looking for better pricing.
State Farm is a great company, July, 2012
State Farm is a great company, excellent company. Great agent and staff. Fast claim processing. great discoiunts and payment plan options
Need a change, July, 2012
State Farm's cost has gone sky high. They are not servicinng anymore policies other than the one's that are still with them.

Happy with what I have, March, 2012
our family ( Parents included ) have used State Farm for many years any we have all been very satisfied with the service and thier polite office staff.
cancelled for no reason, August, 2019
I was with Statefarm for over 30 years. I filed a claim over 10 years ago when lightening /surge damaged all my electrical equipment such as TVs and computers. I have not filed a claim since then but I received a letter from them cancelling my policy. My agent did not have the decency to let me know the policy was being cancelled. Terrible.
High Cost Lousy Service, July, 2019
This company's agents are more interested in what's in your pocket than they are for seeing to your needs. I am a married retired guy with no claims or tickets for auto, and never any claims for home insurance, and they overcharged me foe everything and put me in the wind "pool", and i don't even live close to the beach. STAY AWAY!!
sad, April, 2019
I have had home owners insurance with them for 15 years. My first claim EVER $3000 flood claim in our bathroom, they raised our insurance $1200 a year. I could have been ok with a couple hundred but it almost doubled. So disappointed a company would treat someone like that after 15 years. Switching all my polices. I have home, car and business with them.
Cyndy Davidson agency, April, 2019
Pleased with customer service. switched to new agent last year because I was not totally satisfied with previous agent. Brenda and others at Davidsons agency listened to and acted upon my concerns regarding what I was actually paying for. And Brenda did some research for me concerning water supply line coverage. (and other concerns). Very pleased with their customer service.
They don't know what the heck their agents scams., April, 2019
Had hail damage on a 20 year old very large roof. Only the south half was damaged & so they only would pay for that. Of course, it is just NUTS do have half the house with a new roof and the other half with 20 year old weathered roof. The value of the property would be horrible. The agent wrote the insurance like that to have a lower price. Unethical idiots. I paid out of pocket and dumped them forever. Four buildings, 200 acre farm, they will never ever get to insure again.
INSURANCE IS USELESS BECAUSE THEY WON'T PAY!, February, 2019
We had this company insure 2200 sq ft rental home we own. The basement flooded due to record torrential downpour and to neighbor running ALL her roof water into a small swale between the homes. Have had the home 22 years, never made a claim (or had flood issue). Claim would have been for about $7,000 in cleanup by restoration company to certify mold free and restoring to previous state. They claimed it was due to main sewer drain and refused to pay. They lost multiple properties but steadfastly refused to pay . We've had claims once with Amica and once with Chubb on personal homes and never had a problem. This company is totally a scam company. We switched all properties the next day to Chubb for all properties. DO NOT USE THEM! YOU'LL REGRET IT! USELESS!!!
40+ Year Loyalty Means Nothing, January, 2019
Dad (WWII vet) was a State Farm client, so I became a State Farm client in the Seventies. I had always spoken highly of the company. My occupation required me to move to Europe for two years, but I returned to the State Farm fold upon my return. I never questioned my coverage or State Farm's commitment to me. Rising premiums and rising deductibles seemed to be expected ... until the deductibles we forced upon me for a few weather related claims (hail). Then claims were denied. Then pay outs were offered at such low levels that no contractors would work with us. Then, because our town does not have a state code officer, the company maintained that they were not liable to cover our loss according to state code. Therefore, payout on my current claim was about $5,000 short of what was needed to complete the job. Enough ... I will never be a member of the State Farm "Family" again. Do yourself a favor ... find a more ethical alternative.
Claim Issue Hurricane Florence, September, 2018
Why is State Farm refusing claims for "Named Storm". They should be sending an adjuster out, then send the billing to NC Underwriters. That have closed their claims saying ITS NOT THEIR RESPONSIBILITY" NC Underwriters is saying they are sending an official letter to State Farm informing them of their responsibility. 9.27.18
sucks, September, 2018
Had them for over 25yrs with no claims, I did try filing 3 claims during the 25yrs ..I was declined all 3 times, they said it was wear and tear when my roof was only 5yrs old and again when it was 10yrs old.
pretty good, April, 2018
claim in 1992 Hurricane Andrew. The claim was handled promptly. I can get help from agents. I am currently comparing rates.
Tammy White and State Farm Are Crooks, February, 2018
I've been a loyal State Farm customer for 15 years, having two separate home owners policy with Tammy White. Never once did I receive a phone call asking about changes in needs in those 15 years. Then, when I needed my agent to help navigate the claims process, first claim in 15 years, she doesn't return phone calls and is absolutely no help and definitely isn't an advocate for her customer. She did happily collect my premiums for 15 years though. I will yank all of my policies from Tammy and probably the 8 other policies I have with State Farm because of this.
OK, January, 2018
no contact with them all the time. do not think they care much about my business at all
Homeowner's, Renter's, Two automobiles, August, 2017
I had my first accident for which I was not at fault at 64 years of age. The agent who ran the office, Jamie Smith, would only say there's no need to come by and talk to us and "bless your heart" everyday when I called for help with how to proceed. I was pretty severely injured; never had them check on me once. Luckily, the person causing the accident had good insurance with Farmer's. Also, when my husband and I separated and I got renter's insurance, Jamie and her agency had my name removed even though I am a named insured and part owner of the home, from the homeowner's insurance. So I found out, and called today to cancel renters and have my name put back on the house and they wouldn't take my word for it. They have to have my husband call for me, to put my name back on the homeowner's, even though we never divorced. Crooked and sleazy agency. I don't know about the rest of the company, but Jamie Smith is in her own little insurance world. She seems to give my husband exceptional service while ignoring my needs. Go figure?
2 claims didnt renew had them over two years, July, 2017
2 claims out of over 10 years and they wouldn't renew my insurance. Terrible service. State farm is not on your side
Bothell WA State Farm, June, 2017
Horrible, knew my husband died but continued keeping name in his account would not refund my money from my house and my bank. Will never do further business with State Farm and will tell my story of horrible rudeness and looking the other way while they took my money.
Dog bites are covered, June, 2017
Once you use it you will be not be allowed to renew for the next year. Why say your covered in the event an accident happens with your pet? The end result will be that you are not allowed to renew. This was my first claim every filed in the 10 plus years I have been with them. Edward in Selma CA
Satisfied , February, 2017
Long term relationship; however I was just shopping for possible alternatives.
Takes money after cancelation, February, 2017
My policy was canceled on 1/7/2017 because of the high rates and lack of communication. An escrow check was sent out by my insurance company on 1/11 and processed by State Farm on 1/24, that's right, 17 days after my policy was canceled, they took a check and deposited into my account. Since the agency has been unreliable on straightening this out, I reached out to the call center. I was told that this is the correct process, which was to cash a check on the policy even if it has been canceled, then getting the money back. They said sometimes it takes the underwriting department some time to get the cancelation, but we are talking 17 days here. Since they processed it I have been calling to get my money back. This is not a few hundred dollars, it is over $1,000. Each time I call I get the same ol' song and dance, "the refund is in progress", "we are working on it right now" and so on. When I ask to speak with a manager at the call center, they say that the only have customer service specialists available as the managers are only to train the employees. I have never heard such garbage. In my world, if you do something incorrectly, there is a manager who will try to make it right, and talk to the customer if need be. This company just leaves you in the hands of the reps who say they will file an official complaint which goes right into the revolving file (garbage). Please save yourself some money and the heartache of having them mess up and then giving you the runaround when calling for them to make it right.
Denied insurability for new home, January, 2017
Due to small claims that were paid for another home for wind damage from a hurricane (7 counties around us were declared federal disaster areas by FEMA). Would never again consider using this company. Was also switching auto, now they lose on all. I would give 0 stars if I could.
not a good company to trust, December, 2016
I have had insurance with S/F for 44 years and had 2 clams in the past 2 years of less then $4,000.00 because of some fool breaking into my house and they cancel me. Over the years I paid them over 40,000.00 dollars. I think they are not a reliable company to be with.
Refused to pay bill for flood damage to my home. , November, 2016
State Farm is a horribly greedy and uncaring company. Many homes in atlanta flooded 3 years ago including mine. I called state farm as they were my insurance company for both auto and homeowners. They called a water restoration company to come to my place. The water restoration company didnt do much yet sent me an $800 bill which I sent to state farm. State farm refused to pay this bill. I am now being sued by the water restoration company 3 years later while I am undergoing treatment for ovarian cancer and have no income. State farm still refuses to pay this bill. They claim I should have paid it from the small damage claim check they gave me to repair my home but I never called this water restoration company to come out here - state farm did. They dont care about their customers. They care only about greed and I find them a dishonest and incompetent corporation. Am going to take this story to the local media.
Changed my deductible without my consent, October, 2016
Always had state farm. Hit hard by 100+mph winds that blew off shingles and broke many shingle seals on the rest. Adjustor claimed broken seals were not covered. They are being sued in Texas for similar practices. Furthermore, discovered that State Farm had unilaterally increased the deductible I had specified, without obtaining my consent.
Expensive, September, 2016
I need an affordable policy that covers. Roof 2009, complete remodel to bring it to luxury in 2015. Desired neighborhood
Satisfied with coverage and service, but looking for a better yearly rate. I've been with them for well over 35 years.
Impossible to switch policies between agents, August, 2016
I have spent two months trying to get the last of a policy transferred from one State Farm agent to another. The agents are brilliant at talking you in circles so they will not lose business. I don't understand why everyone that answered the phone was nice but was not able to actually do anything productive for me or my policy. I will never use State Farm again!
State farm is nothing but liars, August, 2016
Statefarm is nothing but a bunch of liars. My shed was wrongfully repossessed which the rental company caused $10,000 of property damage, and stole my property. Statefarm did pay for the damage but my problem is, they said they don't have enough evidence to go after the other parties insurance. Well duh THEY PAID THE CLAIM. What more evidence do they need to have. All insurance companies work together to cause us mass suffering and to screw us over. Why bother to switch insurance companies. They all treat you the same.
20 plus years and dropped, June, 2016
Paid premiums faithfully for all this time, only had 4 claims. One for ice damage for about $600, one for wind damage for about, $400, one for my truck being broke into for $1200 and one for all my of lawn equipment beibeing stole out of my shed for $500. Today we were told we would be dropped by State Farm for too many claims. State Farm has made way more money off me than they have paid out on claims and dropped me. This had to be the most disreputable thing I have ever seen. Basically they say, we will insure you as long as you don't make claims. Good bye state farm and I hope you go out of business!!!!
Searching for reasons to deny coverage, June, 2016
As an industry insider, I have seen numerous occasions in which State Farm repeatedly denies claims that should be covered, rips off homeowners by using substandard contractors, or offers settlements considerably LOWER than full indemnification.
And don't get me started on the 1% deductible, this means if your house's structure policy is $200,000, then your deductible is $2000... Really? $2000!!!!! That's ridiculous! There are many other companies that provide mold coverage, use excellent contractors, calculate reasonable settlements, and that don't find ways to deny coverage.
There IS a difference when an adjuster has the mindset of trying to 'find coverage' vs trying to 'find reasons to deny coverage'...
And don't fall for the State Farm agents baloney saying' "I will be able to get your coverage, don't worry," it is a flat out lie! Agents for State Farm can not determine coverage AND the adjusters repeatedly ignore them.
And if your adjuster says, "I only agree to pay my contractors bill and not your contractors," then threaten to contact the department of insurance immediately... This adjuster is getting a kick back from this contractor... There is a 'fee schedule' that most insurance carriers utilize called xactimate, (think of it like the fee schedule for Medicare, the doctor can not decide willy-nilly what to charge for X or y procedure, it is determined by a third party)... So again, if your adjuster says I won't pay your contractors bill even though your contractor utilizes xactimate, then your adjuster is committing a version of insurance fraud or bad faith in regards to your claim... The result will be substandard work, poor materials, incomplete scope, lack of full indemnification, etc...
My suggestions are:
USAA (if you qualify)
After 30 years, they won't renew, June, 2016
I am so angry. I've lived in this house since 1987 and used State Farm the entire time. I have had 2 roofs and 2 minor water damages in that time. But now they tell me my fireplace isn't good enough, and they don't like my landscaping. Go to Hell, State Farm!
Check other companies for better rates about every 3 years.
looking for a lower price then my current policy
30 year customer given $2k for roof replacement, April, 2016
I've been paying State Farm home owners insurance for 30 years. Not to mention auto. I had one claim for my home in the last 30 years my roof 13 years ago at $3600. My recent claim for hail damage came to a whopping $2k payout because I was informed that $3600 went against the roof cost. Wow... Paid $50k+ to State Farm and I'm stuck with fronting the money for my roof and being reimbursed $2k upon completion. I understand why they are a $98 Billion dollar company!
Massive increases, April, 2016
I have been with SF for over 16 years. This past year my homeowners insurance has gone us 60%. I have had not claims and it has gone around 2% every year previous. The have done the same with there car insurance. State farm is nothing more than greedy thieving bastards
Verbal Abuse, April, 2016
Received email from agent (Martin-Garrard Insurance Agency - State Farm), using verbally abusive words. Not only was the email unprofessional, but the customer service was horrible. No matter how cheap the rates I will not be renewing.
Cancel my insurance, March, 2016
I had a wind storm and I filed a claim lived in my home for 20 plus years. They canceled me. So sad that a weather related claim which is beyond your control shame on you!
Great Company, February, 2016
Looking for a cheaper insurance quote.
I FEEL INTIMIDATED!, February, 2016
Last week, there was a bad windstorm and a tree fell onto my vinyl-covered chain-link fence and crushed over 25 feet of it. I live in the middle of nowhere, so that fence not only keeps the coyotes out of my yard, it also keeps my two dogs in it. I have had State Farm for over 6 years, and never filed a claim before, so I called my agent and said I wanted to file a claim for the cost of the tree removal and new fencing. He told me if he were me, he wouldn’t bother filing such a “minor” claim because I would lose my $189 discount for never having filed a claim, and from now on, that amount would be added to my premium. Then he said, “And in the future, if you have a big claim, like for a fire, they’ll look at your file, see you’ve already filed a previous claim, and probably will cancel your policy.”
I said, “You mean, I could make payments for the next 20 years, but they won’t cancel my policy until I actually try to file another claim?”
He said, “Basically, yes. So that’s why I suggest you save your claim for a more substantial one.”
Save my claim? That pretty much told me I’m allowed to file only one! So that means from now on if something happens, I’ll have to decide, “Is this the big one? Or should I hold out for something bigger?” I mean, if my basement floods, should I claim that, or save it in case there’s a fire or an explosion in the future? What do they think I am, a fortuneteller? It’s ridiculous! And my other problem is it took me ages to get an insurance company willing to insure me because they all have a list of “the 10 most vicious dogs,” and they will not insure people who own any of the breeds on the list – and my 2 dogs are on that list! State Farm is the only company that said it didn’t matter to them what breeds my dogs are. But what good are they if I can file only ONE claim during my lifetime? That’s absurd!
Sold Home and only got 30 days refund, December, 2015
Sold our rental property and when I received a renewal policy I called to tell them we sold 6 months ago. Said we would only get 30 days reimbursement....just lost hundreds of dollars.
shopping for best rate and coverage, November, 2015
when renewing, the policy automatically increases in cost. not good.
25% increase in homeowner premiums, October, 2015
Went up on homeowners ins premiums by 25%. A $200 increase from last year. Auto ins is due in March. If it increases by 25% also, after being a loyal customer for over 20 years, we will probably be looking for another provider.
Not Honest, September, 2015
Will take your money but when you cancel don't do it over the phone or even in person. Do it in writing via email. We cancelled over the phone and it was never processed. He acknowledged we spoke when I called to cancel my insurance, but, he said it was to advise him of a pending re-finance. We started a policy elsewhere at the same time as our refinance and he never processed our cancellation or refunded us for the unused portion. BEWARE OF STATE FARM Jonathan Ritchie Office in Gilbert, AZ.
Good, August, 2015
Dishonest, misleading, lying crooks, August, 2015
Our agent at the time of the claim, Marty Melton, may be great until there is an issue to be dealt with. Then things change drastically. Even after agreeing with me on the crux of my issue, he failed to take responsibility and make things right. I would advise steering clear of this office. You can decide if it’s worth risking the most important things in your life with this disrespectful office. Now, if you have time and want context, here is my experience with this Marty and his office.
The bottom line is, my wife and I found a leak in the bathroom walls due to the shower not having a shower pan under it. This had been going on for years, way before my wife had the house. The entire bathroom had to be ripped out and rebuilt. We have both been with State Farm for all insurance needs our entire lives and never filed any claims. Once we filed this, we were told we had no coverage.
Turns out that Marty contacted my wife (who had the house before we were married) about dropping “unnecessary endorsements” to save some money. There were no details about what those endorsements were. So, my wife called to find out. She was not able to talk with the agent, but his assistant who dropped the coverages in question, without my wife’s full knowledge and consent. The assistant ASSUMED that my wife knew and dropped coverage that we needed and wanted based on her assumption, without verifying anything with my wife. They never owned up to that mistake or took responsibility. They blamed us. Then, we were told that we could never get those coverages back after dropping them (though we never agreed to drop them).
After a while, they ignored me and never answered my questions or made any sense. They’re a bunch of lying crooks and have no integrity whatsoever. Stay away from State Farm – especially Marty Melton’s office!
In process of dropping State Farm, August, 2015
I have been a State Farm customer for 35 plus years. Was told I had hail damage from roofing contractor and after two inspections from State Farm, they denied claim. Funny, all my neighbors qualified but they use Liberty Mutual, Travelers, etc. How could they have damage and I didn't? Was told they couldn't base my claim on neighbors! Don't depend on State Farm!!! I'm not!
Exceeded expectations, July, 2015
We called them to initiate a claim when a roofer saw evidence of possible hail damage causing a new leak (non emergency). Within 36 hours the adjuster met with the roofing company to assess the issue, and the following day we had approval of the claim. This was on a Thursday and they delivered a check paying for replacement of the entire roof and ceiling repair the following Monday.
This is what I consider outstanding service. Thank You State Farm!!
Good Company, July, 2015
I had one claim on my home owners and they increased my rate by over 200%. Time to shop now
Good Company, July, 2015
Cost of renewal is expensive, July, 2015
Customer Service is excellent. However, good customer service masks the continual high cost of policy at renewal time.
Never had to use, June, 2015
I don't really think about the homeowners insurance as we have not had to use it.
Great, June, 2015
Great company I am very happy with all of there customer service great company would recommend them to every one

Cost increase, April, 2015
My policy increased and I believe I can get a better rate. Therefore, I am exploring my options
Pricing, March, 2015
I'm strongly considering switching to another insurance company because of higher price for homeowners insurance, despite being satisfied with auto insurance.
No problems from me, March, 2015
Premiums were higher than allowed by NC Insurance Commission and I did not get the letter saying I agree to continue paying at said rate sent in prior to the deadline so State Farm said they will be dropping me as of 4/30/15.

State Farm, February, 2015
They are one of the only options available for Dogs on the "watch list". We have a chow chow, who is about as likely to bite you as I am, actually I am probably more likely to bite you.. but that doesn't matter to other insurance companies.
state farm ins, January, 2015
Their service has been just fine, it is just too expensive and going up. We need to find a way to bring our mortgage pyt down.
About State Farm, January, 2015
Very satisfied with state farm. Claims were easily filed over the phone with friendly agents. Adjusters came in a timely manner. Only reason I need to find other insurance is because State Farm dropped my policy after one year. They stated that I had too many claims filed.

Loved Statefarm in Tucson, az then just moved here to North dakota. Tried to find a new agent here and got a quote for homeowners ins. and it was almost 3 times the price we paid in az..So that is why we are shopping around.. Very sad been with Statefarm for over 20 years

Great Company, August, 2014
We are very happy with the insurance we have with State Farm, but it is the high quality customer service that we really appreciate.
State Farm, May, 2014
State Farm were marginally cheaper than other providers, and we didn't have a claim so I can't comment on how good they would be in processing one.
Great Customer Service, May, 2014

No issues. Good customer service., January, 2014
We had to change to State Farm because they would cover us with our son's Rottweiler living here. Unfortunately, due to health issues I don't think the dog will be with us much longer, so it may be worth shopping again - or maybe get lower premiums without the dog.
Reduce Cost, January, 2014
Need to reduce cost of Homeowners policy
State Farm, January, 2014
I am very satisfied with State Farm. Their agents are very helpful, and always able to assist you. I am only looking for quotes to reduce my overall costs.
Insurance costs have increased the last 3 years. Looking for better price with equal coverage. Also, considering moving my auto insurance from State Farm as well if multiple accounts help reduce costs.

STATE FARM HAD BETTER RATES WHEN I SIGNED UP WITH THEM IN 1989 OR 1990 BUT A FEW YEARS AGO MY INSURANCE WENT UP THREE TIMES IN A YEAR AND A HALF. THEY ARE EXCELLENT AS INSURANCE PEOPLE AND TRUST WORTHY BUT I CAN'T AFFORD THE RATES ANYMORE.

State Farm Insurance, November, 2013
I love State Farm's customer service! The cost of the insurance kept going up after Hurricane IKE. It is almost twice as much as some other companies. Every January I go to their office to see what other benefits I need to take off, so I can afford them.
Replacement cost, November, 2013
great agent, good coverage, don't like replacement policy, if totaled they find a similar mobile home and that is your replacement. If want cash get half the value.
Cost is out of control, November, 2013
State Farm's deductible went from $500. to %5,131. in one year. From 2013 to 2014
Reliable company but, October, 2013
Good company but premiums go higher and higher and soon we will not be able to handle it... Invisible agent. In past 18 years I did not see the guy... I don't know how he looks like...
Comparision 1, October, 2013
We use State Farm for three homes. The first one for over 13 years and could not be happier. The 2nd policy for about 8 years and have been satisfied (had a storm claim for roof on this one...handled very professionally). The third home is new for a few months now, but satisfied. State Farm has been good for us and we have been satisfied with their expert service.
Jay, October, 2013
Have been with SF for 46 years and carry my homeowners, car, and some life ins. We have been very happy, unfortunately they are not writing policies for homeowners ins in Naples, Fl
Homeowners Insurance, October, 2013
I have been with State farm a very long time but it appears their premiums have gotten very high.
State Farm is ok, October, 2013
The policy was cheap, but customer service sucks. Their 800callcenter and local agent both had bad service.
Happy, September, 2013
I am very happy with this company and I would never change because I like the service we get there.
house, September, 2013
my house is not getting renewed on the policy so i need coverage
state farm, September, 2013
State Farm is just to costly. They are raising the rates like they did in Florida.
increase , September, 2013
It's was amazing how they raised my rates over 12% after the first year . When I called to inquire about it they didn't seem to care . I can understand a slight increase but over 12% with no claims is outrageous
good company, September, 2013
very helpful whenever I call. Rates have increased and I would like comparative rates
State Farm, August, 2013
This insurance of OK in terms of coverage, but it is Just too darn expensive and the billing cycle is one payment a year.
paul weber, August, 2013
Have been with State Farm for many years and all of my dealings with claims have been satisfactory and sometimes better. State farm has notified me that they will no longer insure the home that I am trying to sell because it is unoccupied. That is my only complaint about this company
Cost, August, 2013
Looking at saving money on our policy
State Farm Wind Storm Claim, August, 2013
State Farm is not renewing my policy due to a claim in 2012
State Farm, July, 2013
I have been very satisfied with this company for many years - great customer service, personal assistance, claim handling. BUT...the premium is very high and keeps going up. I pay quarterly. My last payment was $399.24 in May, my August payment has gone up to $478.50. That's a big increase. I don't want to lower my payment by decreasing my coverage.
Insurance Rates, July, 2013
Currenty with citizens insurnace and they are going up almost 25%. Insurance is provided through State farm agent
AAgeny and company very easy to deal with in Indiana.
Good Company, June, 2013
Good Service....personal service, convenient will renew through mortgage company
moving to a different state that does not have coverage by state farm is the only reason that I can't be with them any longer.
Prompt service, June, 2013
Prompt service in reviewing a claim I had after a theft in my house. They were courteous and right on the ball in getting me set up.
Auto and RV, June, 2013
we have this insurance on our car and our rv which has always been very good.
good company, May, 2013
state farm is a good company,i was with them all most thirty years.i have nothing bad to say about statefarm,
State Farm was fantastic in handling our claims for water damage. Quite frankly, we would use them in Hilton Head Isle if they provided Homeowner coverage there.
We were quite satisfied with state farm over the years as we felt they would always be there if needed.
State Farm, May, 2013
While I didn't have any claims during my insurance, the price was competitive, and the coverage was good.
State Farm Review, May, 2013
We had 2 hail damage claims, 1 wind damage where our fence fell down. On my rental, which was not with State Farm, I replaced the roof due to hail damage. I have not over-claimed in 45 years except for the past 5 years at this home.
I am renting my townhome in Michigan and they don't cover rentals if they are less than a month. In Florida, I have a place on the ocean and they don't write coverage on properties on the beach. I still have my auto coverage with them.
State Farm does not offer Mobile Home insurance. My former mortgage insurance went bankrupt and the current mortgage company that took it over stoppen paying my escrow and now are wanting me to reinstate policy but home has to be a certain year or newer
Current state farm experience, May, 2013
I have been with my current agent for 16 years. The customer service is excellent and the assistance when claims are required is the best.

home insurance, February, 2013
My bill has went up almost every year.
House review and pricing., February, 2013
State Farm has provided good customer service on both house and car. Recently they have raised rates for wind damage to the point of being ridiculous. They hired their own contractor to review our property and did not give us any feedback to save costs. The property had previously been reviewed by our licensed general contractor.
Review Of State Farm Policy, February, 2013
State Farm has continually offered me a good price, and are flexible with my payment schedule. The agent I work with is always polite and personable. The likelihood that I will renew with State Farm is high.

Cost of wind and hail policy, July, 2012
The high cost of the wind and hail policy. The renewal cost of the wind and hail went up 13% for next year.
Homeowner, June, 2012
Had been with company for 20+ years and now they are dropping customers because home has a mobile home attached which has been attached from the beginning. It appears that most companies are dropping mobile home owners. Our situation is unique due to mobile being attached to home that we built in 1988 because house was built on a lot which was zoned for mobile homes only at the time.
