Bring your money else where , January, 2016
Not only is this insurance thousands of dollars more expensive than the competitors, they also have the worst customer service I have ever experienced in a professional company. They were not trueful on prices and once I canceled with them I continued to get bills from them. I will never ever recommend them. Very frustrating.
Worst customer service, September, 2015
Today one of Secura Insurance customers hit my vehicle. A parked vehicle. I was no where around. The car had to be towed. Instead of trying to help me or get a rental, their office says I must wait until Tuesday because they aren't adequately staffed. Um, how is my fault? One phone call to the driver and one to the auto shop would pretty much answer your questions! I gave you all their info!
A particular staff member was rude and refused to help me. Thanks Tara! Amanda was awesome and at least gave me a claim number. This doesn't not help me get a rental though so I guess no church or work on Tuesday.
What ever happened to doing the right thing??
I guess our world has come to this!! Thanks for being just another crummy insurance company Secura! Hopefully my Review will help get the word out though so you won't have to deal with people like me (innocent bystanders or customers) in the future!
They will screw you, July, 2015
Bought a house from a estate had the house and all my cars toys eat... Bundled with secura. 7 months later I got a cancellation notice that my house was in disrepair and they will not cover it. Called my insurance agent and told them I have a signed contract from a contractor that the repairs will be taken care of in the next two weeks after that they started pulling things out of there ass about problems about the house that wernt even bad! One of there excuses were my plumbing/pipes for the washer was dirty! I had enough after that I cancelled on them and went to Pekin and been happy ever since, don't waste your time and money go anywhere else! anywear they don't want to insure older houses
Denied claim for car, July, 2015
Secura sucks. My car was damaged by a person who has secura. There was over 800 dollars worth of damage. I made a police report. They denied the claim based on the fact that I have no "proof". The only other proof I could possibly have would be a video tape. Now I have to file a claim and pay the deductible with my own insurance company. I got raped for 500 dollars by Secura. You might as well not even have insurace if you use Secura.

My best friend was so enthralled with Secura's "image" when she first started working there, she convinced me to switch our home and auto coverage over to them. After sharing too many stories of their unethical leadership, she's looking for a new job, and I'm looking for a new insurance company. Thanks to all for the confirming reviews here!

Had an adjuster from SECURA come to my house and she (Penny Shrewmaker) said I had no damage from what I was told is that I had major hail damage by my contractor and the lady from SECURA never even got on my roof my claim was denied so now I have more problems than previous shingles coming off and a leak in my house from the damage I've read the other reviews on here and I do agree they SUCK!!!! How can an adjuster that didn't get on my roof say I had no damage when you can clearly see it!!! I asked if they had another adjuster that could come out and was told no they don't and I refuse to have an engineer that they pay for come out it seems to me that they are in good together and from my understanding they will help to deny the claim!! SECURA hire someone that will get on roofs and actually do their JOB!!! I'm now paying for my roof to be done out of my pocket!!! You guys SUCK!!! And so does your only adjuster Penny Shrewmaker!!!! Not giving you anymore money towards my insurance I'll switch companies first!!!
Hail Damage Claim, May, 2014
Don't be fooled by them. Their insurance adjuster came out after my roof guy said I had hail damage. Adjuster did not even go on roof and said no hail damage. Secura then offered to have an independent "expert" come out that "they" pay for. He said I did have hail damage only it was mechanically damaged in other words I did it....that's after their employee said no hail damage.
Don't waste your money on them you will find out only when you have a claim that they do not pay. Ten years of premiums with no claims. This is also after my neighbor behind me had his roof replaced from hail damage from his insurance company.

Hit a sandbar on Mississippi river with outboard. Submitted a claim and was told that the loss was due to lack of maintenance or improper operation. Don't insure your toy's and expect them to be covered when you do have an accident. No matter how many years you are claim fee!

Secura is an unethical company driven by greed. They are quick to collect, but slow to pay, and there's nothing easy about doing business with them. It's ironic that they have a 5-star rating with MULTIPLE REVIEWS ALL MADE IN THE SAME MONTH ... can you say PLANTED INFORMATION? Don't trust them to do what they say they will. All they want is your money. They'll lie to get it, and they'll lie to keep it.

How can someone work for secura and get paid for doing nothing??? Hail claim gets denied when the woman Penny whoever never even got on my roof! She wants a mans job then lady I suggest you do your job my next move is to hire my own adjuster and bill secura!!! Now I have leaks because I was told I have no roof damage you tell me you're not getting on my roof because of weather well lady its been in the 60's and beautiful out I see no reason why you can't get on my roof then I hear from friends who have secura for their insurance that you're known for denying claims well last I checked I pay for my insurance not you and the money to pay for my roof doesn't come out of your pocket its comes from what I pay into my insurance!!!! Either do your job or quit your job!!!! Am I satisfied with this company absolutely not!!!! I have a so called premier agent and I will complain to them!!!!

Run don't walk from these guys. When you cancel your policy they will charge you for canceling. Just don't make your last payment and they will cancel you and you will save about $1000.

I did a bit of research and its the people that work for secura that are unethical the ones who help the adjusters make the decision on whether or not to deny a claim its not always the adjuster who make that decision its people like Brian Salm and Scott Hirias Rich Conti and other up high in the office these guys and a few others have no business being Supervisors!They are the ones who act like the money you pay in premiums is coming out of their pockets so why is it your claim gets denied??? Because they highly believe the more they deny the better SECURA looks and the more money they get in their pockets for bonus's in the end!!! So I guess what I'm saying is drop secura as your insurance company unless you enjoy having high deductibles that also determines your denial because the adjusters can make sure your claim is below your deductible which leads denial and SECURA loves denials! Seriously a deductible as high as $5000 to possibly higher!!! Its just SECURA'S way of saying easy denial!!! I will not give them a 5 star rating I don't even want to give them a 1 star rating the president or CEO of the company really needs to look at who he has working for him! Its greedy people its not hard to find information on the supervisors or claim adjusters in your area or the state you live in its public information!!!! I did it you can too!!!

I had a fire damage claim to my garage and its contents. Within 2 hours of me submitting the claim an adjuster called me and setup a time to meet. He reviewed my coverage, explained the investigation process and how to complete a personal property inventory listing on my claim. Great customer service and my claim was settled fairly.

Im really satisfied with all aspects of my claim and Secura Ins. I have everything insured with them in a Gold plan. I have had car,house,computer, claims over the last 30 years and they have handled all of them quickly and to my upmost highest satisfaction. I would NEVER change companies even if I could save money. The best company ever! Thanks
Fire claim to my tractor, December, 2015
I had a fire in my storage shed that housed my large lawn mower/tractor. The fire was caused by a faulty battery charger that shorted out. The adjuster was timely, pleasant and understanding of the situation. The largest portion of the claim was the large lawn mower/tractor, I had Kubota with a three point hitch and a 60'' mower deck from 1990 and was able to replace it with a brand new John Deere with no issues!! The John Deere has many more options than my older Kubota but the frame and engine size are similar. Thank you for a job/claim well done. Great company and claim department that stand behind what they sell.

Our agent, Mike Driessen, is the hardest working and most persistent agent I could ask for. We have had top notch customer service and he delivers on things he says he's going to do! Any claims we have had with Secura have been handled immediately and in a very professional manner. I have never had to fight against my own insurance company about a claim, which I hear quite often from other people. Great agent and claims team!

I had a shed fire that had excessive damage to the building and it's contents. The adjustor was their within a day and everything from there was timely. I would submit a bill and within a couple of days the check was in the mail. Thank you so very much for the great experience.

I hit my MINI against a Median pretty hard trying to avoid another car that almost hit me. SECURA sent the adjuster pretty quickly, they fixed my car with no issues, and gave me a rental car until I got mine back.

As with any carrier, your insurance agent is a key person to help you to feeling cared about and making sure you are taken care of to your satisfaction. It is too bad that the folks that gave reviews did not have help from their agents. I did. Happy with the company, my coverage and how claims were handled. Will stay with them.

Secura has been a pleasure to deal with, especially adjuster Penny Shewmaker. Though I recently switched companies due to cost, they opened a new claim on damage that occurred during their coverage span, and were a pleasure to deal with throughout process. I highly recommend them, and will likely be a customer again soon if they are competitive from a price basis.

After having multiple issues with secura, I decided to stick it out, maybe things would get better. No chance. I will never use secura again. Their "customer service agents" do nothing to help, every time they try to tell me I need to call my agency and have them call secura... Excuse me, but you take money directly from me without a third party then you better be willing to answer my (the insured) questions directly instead of trying to push it off on someone else. Unacceptable. 0 stars. Use a different company even if it costs a little bit more. You get what you pay for
