Fraud, April, 2017
They are definitely NOT there when you need them. They are Non responsive, non communicative, disorganized, game playing liars. Filed a claim, they approved the claim and then refused to pay until I was in financial straights. Then they offer half the repair cost. This is not insurance, it is fraud.

Argumentative. Poor customer service. Talk to four different employees and get four different responses. Cheap insurance if you don't file a claim.

Rockford mutual is a fraud. Had a claim. They refused to address my claim. After numerous requests, they would not adjust or provide a estimate. Finally reported to Illinois department of insurance. They finally made poor response just to appease the Illinois Dept of insurance. Still refused to pay the claim. Finally a judge made them adjust. A terrible process and company. You will not be happy when you need them. They will lie, delay, laugh at you and do anything to antagonize you. This is not insurance. The company is a fraud.
Claim was quick and easy, July, 2016
Best price we found for our auto. Had a couple claims, window repair was easiest. I took the auto to my autobody guy and they dealt with adjuster. Car was repaired in no time
Horrible customer service, January, 2015
Had no problems until of course I had a claim. The claim was from another driver's insurance and the customer service from Rockford Mutual was so bad they screwed things up so that I had my deductible subtracted from the check the body shop received. The customer service rep, Christy, has me call the other party insurance company to try to straighten out. Then she told me my $500 deductible check was in the mail from the other insurance carrier, but never followed through. I again had to call the company (her job) and spend an hour on the phone. Not worth the savings-avoid this "company."
Great Service, July, 2015
Wife's car broke down on highway when out of town. Called to use Roadside Assistance. They arranged tow, and they even called my wife to make sure she was OK and to let her know who was coming to assist her. They called me back to let me know where the car would be towed to for service. After the towing company reported they were taking the vehicle, they waited an appropriate time and called her to make sure she was taken care of properly. Service above expected!

Rockford Mutual was slightly more than another carrier my agent proposed, however, the renewal price is similar to the original premium. The claims process was handled quickly and efficiently, and I was happy with the final payment.
Awful customer service after 9 yrs without a claim, December, 2017
Jessica Rhodes did nothing to help us on this claim. Our parked car was hit by a DUI driver and left un-driveable. Tec Appraisers is who Rockford uses for an estimate-took 10 days for them to finally come out to write up the damage estimate. Meanwhile we were never informed we only had 1 month worth of rental coverage on our policy -nor that we only had 1 tow to a body shop until after we were there already and found out it would be a 2-4 week wait for our vehicle to even start repairs! We ran out of car rental time and they termed coverage w/Enterprise car rental while our car wasn't even started with repairs! They never even called me to let me know this! When I called the Supervisor at Rockford - MR KENNEDY about this he was rude, very short with me after I pointed out how poorly this was handled. Mr Kennedy basically said he didn't care that my car wasn't fixed -he wasn't going to pay further for a rental car while my car was awaiting repairs and no apologies that we had been with them 9 years accident free and that we were so uninformed in this process. No offers to make it right with us on our rental car out of pocket expenses to date. It has been 7 weeks and we are still without our car! DO NOT CHOOSE ROCKFORD MUTUAL. THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT THEMSELVES AND ARE NOT INTERESTED IN HELPING THEIR PAYING CUSTOMERS.
