Very Extensive List of Limitations, August, 2017

I wouldn't recommend Nippon health insurance unless you are extremely healthy and don't plan to get sick. Preventative coverage is average, but read the extensive list of limitations. It's the longest list I've seen with any insurance we've ever had. We are paying over $400 out of pocket because Nippon doesn't cover school physicals, immunizations or a TB test required by most colleges for entry. This is the only insurance that we've ever had that won't pay for school physicals or TB tests needed for school. An endoscopy is about $1500 out of your pocket after insurance covers their portion. They also allow their in network doctors to use out of network anethesiologists for surgeries, and they are not required by Nippon to use in network anesthesiologist and and no one will inform you of this, so you will only find out after insurance surprises you with a large out of network fee. If you have a breast implants, implanted at any point in your life for cosmetic reasons, and have any life threatening issues with them, you need to read the limitations list. You may be surprised what is not covered. Don't take my word for any of this, but read the limitations and be informed before choosing Nippon Life. Also if they don't cover it, it won't be counted towards your deductible. Our family is paying more out of pocket with Nippon than with any other insurance that we've had to date. I hope our company chooses an insurance with fewer limitations for next year.
