Very bad experience, June, 2017
I had an accident in which the other driver had Grange insurance. It took them close to 2 months to contact me and discuss the accident and then they are only paying for part of the damage not all. It was very frustrating. I had to use my own insurance to cover the rest of the damage caused by their driver and their claims representative were very rude when it comes to discussing the matter.
Increase deductible after filing claim, July, 2017
Grange insurance increase deductible when you file a claim without any permission. They just send a letter to notify you, hey your deductible is increase from $500 to $2500. They don't need signature and no calling.
Con artists, February, 2016
Send you a homeowners bill for a year quote, You pay in full , 90 days later they tell you well we drove past your house and are adjuster deems that you will have to pay an additional $173.00 . What kind of crap this that. Never will get my business again.

Grange Insurance is literally the worst insurance company on the face of this earth. I will NEVER return to them! After having them insure my home for 5+ years (with not a single issue), I have come to realize that they only exist to make money and make a fool of you. Their customer service was entirely non existant, they charged us even after we cancelled a policy and they outright insulted us over the phone. I would not trust these folks at all; they have no idea how to run a business or treat other people. Just one example for you: when we called them to inquire about renewing our full year policy or doing a monthly policy since we were about to sell our home, they were utterly useless.They did not explain any of the pros/cons of the options, did not share the differences in pricing, and berated us for asking any questions. Worst team of people and business we've ever worked with.
Worst Insurance CO by far, August, 2018
I was rear ended and seriously injured by a Grange insured trucking Co that had serious safety violations and should never of been on the highway. The Co. had tags expired for 2 years prior, lots of safety violations ,yet Grange insured them anyway. Been a nightmare and very stressful last 4 yrs filing lawsuits against Grange and we have a jury trial approaching. Grange has a whole team of in house attorneys that fight claims. They are totally unreasonable.. worst insurance around. Their attorneys have openly lied to the Court, encouraged their insured to lie and fabricate Falsified inspection documents, and have committed Fraud on the Court, by submitting counterfeit docs. I feel more victims need to come forward and hire a fighting trial attorney(not a settlement attorney) and sue this dishonest Insurance Co. Knowledgeable victims can also file bad faith lawsuits against Grange( many states have these provisions now), and file complaints with their states dept of insurance oversee-ers
DON'T USE GRANGE!!!, March, 2018
DO NOT USE THIS INSURANCE COMPANY!!!!! We just had a comp claim due to an accident with a deer. The damage was WELL below blue book and yet they REFUSE to repair it. We were advised the adjuster said he was going to total it before he even looked at it. They have NO compassion, they WILL NOT listen to or reason with you. They know they hold all the cards and are powerless against them. They couldn't care less about what you want or need. They ONLY care about what is in their best interests - period!!!!!
Hard to Find Help, December, 2015
Good luck trying to find anyone to speak to you and answer your questions. My agent was gone for a full 7 days without someone else assigned to handle my claim. When I tried to reach the receptionist to answer some general questions, it would only go to her voicemail. Waste of time and frustrating.
BAD BAD GRANGE, SCAMMED ME, January, 2018
I was a customer of Grange for almost 10 years with my business liability insurance. After my rates kept increasing year after year without ANY claims I finally canceled my policy. About 2 months later I get a letter in the mail stating that my account was under an audit...coincidence?!?! They had never done an audit on my account in the 10 years that I had the policy. So after complaining to my former agent (Hausman & Kunklel Insurace in Roselle IL) and to Grange, they required me to present them with all of my subcontractors certificates of insurance and my company books for the last 2 years. This wasted about 15 hours of my time, and for a small business owner that sucks.
They said if I did not comply that I would get sent an invoice for the full year policy premium which would be almost $1,500. This is such BS coming from a large company that is picking on a smaller company just because "they can". Nothing changed on my end at all for the whole 10 years, still no employees, same sub contractors, etc who all had certificates on insurance. They finally said that I owe $247 for the possibility of more risk that they had while my policy was still in place....are you kidding me?!?! That is like ordering a burger, paying for a burger and then the store contacts you several months later to say that they under charged you and now you owe more money!!! This is ridiculous!!! How can I owe more money after my account was closed for 2 months? I WILL NEVER TALK TO ANOTHER GRANGE REP EVER AGAIN. THEY ARE A BIG BULLY TAKING A HARD EARNED PAY CHECK FROM A GUY WHO HAS 5 KIDS.

25 year loyal customer with 2 home claims. Last week Grange decided to not renew my policy. No advance warning, I doubt if they even told my agent.
There should be laws against this type of practice.

Filed one claim in two years for a small shed fire and they dropped me. Of course only paid a portion of what the loss value was. Always made my payments on time.
Excellent claim processing, July, 2017
I have found Grange to be outstanding in all aspects of a roof claim; speed of contact, helpfulness, courtesy, and honoring the policy. This is my first time ever dealing with a homeowners insurance claim and I was nervous that, as insurance companies can do, they would find a reason to deny the claim. I could not have been more wrong! Seriously, from start to finish Grange was outstanding. OUTSTANDING!
Great Claims Response, June, 2016
I had ice build up in my gutters during the bad winter of 2015. In the March thaw, the ice tore off my gutters and destroyed my A/C unit. Grange called me back within 24 hours of filing claim, adjuster came that week, and not only did they pay for new gutter and new A/C, but I also had to update my entire HVAC system since the old one drafted from the floor and there was no return ducts. Since I was out of code and couldn't install the new A/C without new duct work, Grange paid for that as well. All it cost me was my deductible.

I worked with Michael Overton on my claim and he was wonderful. He was kind, quick, and very detailed. He always got back to me quickly, even when I had a million questions. Grange, as a whole, has given me excellent customer service over nearly a decade now. I can't recommend them enough.
