Horrible claims, May, 2013
The purpose of insurance is to have assistance in the event of an accident. I was the third person hit in an accident at a stop light. (Someone hit the car in front of them and they, in turn, hit me). Neither car was reasonably insured (one not insured, and the other under-insured). My claim was minimal, but Esurance took five months to follow up on my claim request(s). They did not issue me a check to begin repairs at the auto shop until 3 months after that.
Although it took eight months for them to send me a $58 check for getting my bumper and frame fixed (ha!), my insurance bill went up immediately. It was this fact that I had to continue to bring up when they questioned whether "I let them know about any incident". It was never in their records, according to them. Yet they "assured" me they were fighting to get info on the un[der]insured drivers who were at fault.
Cheap insurance is not worth wasting your money on if there is no payment in the event of a true accident. NEVER USE ESURANCE.

BEWARE OF ESURANCE!!! THEY ARE THE WORST INSURANCE COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH.
On April 13, 2012 I had a not at fault accident where my truck incurred about $2,500.00 worth of damage; First it took until two days ago (10 days short of 3 WHOLE months) to get an appraiser out to look at the damage to my vehicle.
Then they apprasied my $2,500.00 worth of damage at a little over $1,200.00. My deductible is $1,000.00 leaving me with about $200.00 to fix ,y vehicle. That's not even enough to buy one headlight muchless fix the damage.
Bottom line, If you want your vehicle INSURED then ESURANCE IS NOT THE WAY TO GO. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DO NOT EVEN WASTE YOUR TIME ON A QUOTE. You get what you pay for in most cases, but I definitely lost money by switching to Esurance.
ESURANCE IS THE WORST INSURANCE COMPANY ON THE FACE OF THE PLANET. Reasonable cost, poor service and cancelation, February, 2014
Cost was reasonable. Very long wait times for customer service, every time I called it was at least 10 minutes. Used the annual billing, automatic renewal option. Cancelled policy but company had no record, so no refund for remaining 11 month. Then I received a automatic renewal billing notice for the next year - 11 months after canceling the policy. Do not gin up for annual billing and auto rebelling. It is a nightmare. If eligible use USAA

They tried to charge me $45.99 for taking my daughter and her car off my policy a week early. Yet they were only going to reduce my premiums by $10 a month without her or her car on the policy. I am now insured with Liberty Mutual for half what esurance was charging me

This car insurance company is terrible. A policy holder hit my vehicle and was given a citation plus the police accident report clearly reports their policy holder as at fault. Went to traffic court and their policy holder was also found at fault. This company refuses to accept liability despite overwhelming evidence. They also had the courage to make a claim against my insurance company claiming I was at fault. They are disgusting, do not purchase their policies for any reason.

I was with Progressive over five years and paying hundreds of dollars for no reason. Now, that I called around and got quotes, Esurance saved me around $600.

Esurance was terrific to begin. Everyone was helpful and web site is simple to follow. Unfortunately, this last renewal has my policy going up over 50%. I need to keep looking.

DO NOT USE ESURANCE. I SIGNED UP FOR THEIR HOMEOWNERS INSURANCE AND AFTER MY SQUARE FOOTAGE ON MY HOME WAS LOWERED TO THE CORRECT AMOUNT, I WAS DUE A REFUND OVER $400. IT HAS BEEN OVER A MONTH AND I HAVE STILL NOT RECEIVED MY REFUND. I CANCELLED MY POLICY WITH THEM AND NOW THEY HAVE TO LOOK OVER MY BILLING BEFORE THEY ISSUE MY REFUND, WHICH IS OVER $1700. I'M SURE THAT WILL TAKE OVER A MONTH TO GET BACK!!! I GUESS IT'S TIME TO CONTACT MY ATTORNEY.

I purchased a policy with Esurance because a friend told me they are really cheap. I was involved a small accident, which was not my fault, and when I called to set up a claim they were rude and terrible to work with. I had full coverage on my car, and it took 25 days to hear back from and adjuster. I will switch companies right away.

This company is the worst company I have ever insured with. This company is a sorry, no good; don't give a damn about their customers. Esurance is nothing but a money hungry company. They are quick to take my money but are not quick to make sure my car is fixed. I hate them so much that I'm on a mission to ruin Esurance as a brand. Esurance is the worst insurance company I have ever had to deal with. These guys disgust me. Because of their lack diligence from this company, I have lost my car. They have failed me as an insurer. They are an example of what disappointment looks like. I cannot begin to illustrate my frustration that they have put me through. Never have I experience such hatred for a company. I wouldn’t even give 1 star to Esurance because of how poorly I’ve been treated. I would never recommend anyone to you.

In Nov. 2018 I changed the insurance to Esurance.
In January 2019 I was involved in an accident.
A police officer observed the accident but declared that I caused it, most probably because I speak with
European accent. He gave me also a ticket because he claimed that I caused to the other vehicle a damage of more than $1,000 adding sarcastically that if I did not like his decisions I should go to the court.
I had to call Esurance 14 (fourteen) times to talk to some one. They used different technical tricks to prevent me from talking with them. Finally a woman responded who was clearly not interested in what I was saying. Eight days later some Brandon Rode called to say that they had decided that I had caused the accident but because my car is old (I drive a Chevy Impala LS 2000 for which I paid $25,000 and I have spent $30,000 over the years to keep in good condition, it has only 127,548 miles,
127,032 miles at the time of the accident) they would be willing to buy it for $1,100. My tires alone cost $1,000. After months of trying to
convince them to have my car repaired as they are obligated by law, I decided to pay myself and make the story public. I paid $950 for the repair, my deductible is $500, they owe me $450. They keep refusing to pay and insist in buying my car.
I would never believe that someone is so cheap, to sell his/her soul to the devil for $450.
I am 73 years old and sick. I do not give myself more than one year of living. I have no retirement income and no way to buy another car as I can not pay a price, any price, in full.
The most illogical thing now is to buy a new car, even if I could afford it. Next year, this day, I will most probably be dead.

They only contact through email. There was a problem between my escrow and insurance instead of calling me or the mortgage company they emailed me of my cancelled policy although the check from the mortgage company was mailed 5 days earlier.

Horrible experience with esurance. Was involved in a hit and run accident while in a rental car. Esurance treated me like the criminal and changed their story multiple times regarding what would be covered. I was told my deductible would apply initially, then I was told it wouldn’t and I would be covered 100% under personal property damage. I was told by the agent this claim was ‘going against me’. Later received a bill from the rental car company stating my insurance paid $300 and I owed the remaining $2000. Could barely get in touch with anyone at esurance regarding the claim and when I finally did was always told they would look into it and get back to me. They ended up paying an additional $1000 but I had to pay the other $1000 for something I was told would be covered 100%. Esurance eventually stopped returning calls or even answering for that matter after we were given an agent’s direct line. Called from a different number once and was answered the first ring which confirmed my suspicion about being ignored. In the end they sent me a letter declining to cover me after years of coverage, and a not at fault accident was the only claim filed. Save yourself the headache and go elsewhere.

Beware stay away from this insurance co. I almost had a nervous breakdown because they used the worst bait and switch on me. I was quoted a rate for my daughter and because she did not have a credit card with her name on it, I was advised to go to wal-mart and purchase a money card with her name on it. My husband who is elderly took my daughter to wal-mart to purchase this money card with the amount that I was quoted. When we contacted the agent the amount went up about $250 more and this created a lot of stress on me and my husband. I have never been treated so bad. Please do not do business with esurance or you will be sorry.They are horrible It was elderly abuse.

Esurance really is the bottom of the bottom feeders. They take nearly three months just to figure out what they are going to do an a vehicle. They deny diminun of value even though they are required by Gonzales v Farmers. Will never call you back if you do not agree to their terms. Bad bad bad

Called to cancel my auto policy this morning; the call took 16 minutes 13 seconds because they rep kept trying to talk me out of cancelling when I had already setup and started a new policy with Allstate. I told him I didn't want to talk about it and I just wanted to cancel and be done with it. I was charged a $73 fee based on having 120 days left on my policy before the renewal period. He said this was specific to NC, due to uninsured motorists (obviously not me considering I was trying to cancel after having already picked up new policy with Allstate). Never heard of such a fee in my life; was never charged before by Allstate, USAA, Liberty Mutual, or Commerce.
