    Worst Insurance Company Ever, November, 2017

    I was in an auto accident on October 4, 2017 in which the other party was at fault. Office Jones responded to the accident call and the other party provided both a verbal and written statement that I was driving straight on a main street and that she pulled out of a parking lot, turning left, and hit me. I collaborated both verbally and in writing. Today is November 1, 2017. I have made numerous calls to the claims adjuster and to my agent and they are refusing to pay my repairs of $779. I have been repeatedly informed that the responsible party's insurance (Progressive) doesn't want to pay, so I am responsible for paying my $500 deductible, even though the other party admitted fault. EMC has provided the worst insurance customer service that I have ever experienced.

    lame customer service, January, 2015

    This company has the worst customer service you could imagine. If anything goes wrong, instead of contacting you they just send out a cold cancellation notice by a computer. Amazingly awful customer service. AVOID!

    THEY WILL TAKE YOUR $ THEN SCREW YOU BEHIND, June, 2019

    Our family businesses carried EMC insurance for over twenty years. When we suffered harm (medical + $1M) and loss (income + 1M) + (non-economic damages 1/4M) in excess of our $2 MILLION DOLLAR POLIC, EMC REFUSED TO PAY.

    Going on 7 years since the accident, they have yet to pay a dime but have spent $ tens-of-thousands on "LOSS PREVENTION". EMC's term for keep the money from the insured by all means possible. They GO TO WAR! against their insured. Not a dime!! They have finally offered $100k to settle the claim. Life changing injuries including a TBI(Traumatic Brain Injury!) and loss of $$ LIVELY-HOOD FOR THE REST OF LIFE!! STAY AWAY!! THEY INTEND NOT YO PAY!!

    Said they would fight any loss (for them) in court and appeal to the high courts!

    !!!! RIPOFF !!!

    Woud NEVER use them for Workers Comp, April, 2019

    On 2/4/19 we receive our billing notice for $334 which was due 4/8/19 so it was put into April’s Bill pay file. The First part of March we receive a cancellation notice in the mail and I contact the sub-contractor insurance provider who said “Unfortunately I don’t have much information on when EMC sends invoices. I do know they always send a letter stating your policy will cancel if they renew payment is not received in time…..” Well I did not get a WILL cancel notice… I got a Cancellation Notice. Next we receive a notice mailed on 3/18/19 stating our bill is now $936. And we receive a notice from the state of WI stating we did not pay our policy which is not due for another month. So I had to fill out a ton of other paper work from the state stating yes we were still in business and will be obtaining works comp insurance. Next we received another bill notice with a red stamp “Correction” on top and the bill is now back to $334. By now this company had mailed me 5 times wasting a ton of payroll and the post office time. I paid the bill however had a change of heart being a green company thinking of all the emissions this company has wasted along with all the payroll and time and cancelled the policy at the end of March. Its April 13th and I still have not received my refund.

    Not ever insured by EMC, but had to deal with them, February, 2019

    Let me reiterate; I've never been insured by EMC, but they recently screwed my brother over badly. So, delete this if you want. I'll have quite a few more reviews up on websites where the reviewers aren't required to have been insured by the company.

    Here's the story. My brother was in an automobile accident back in October caused solely by a man (let's call him Joe) driving for a company insured by EMC. The police even issued Joe the citation. There is video footage showing Joe backing the (rather large) company truck out into traffic, and right in front of my brother, who was changing lanes at the time. Joe was already blocking both traffic lanes with his company truck, and was about to enter the inside lane of the other two lanes when my brother struck him. It's all very clear it was Joe's fault, but when my brother filed a claim, they denied him a check to replace his car, stating he could have avoided the accident. Long story short? Get EMC as your insurance if you're a crappy driver and want them to screw the other guy over when you cause an accident. But good luck if their insured customers cause an accident...they're about as crooked as insurance companies get.

    large auto rate increase, January, 2017

    Been with company for 20+ years and been very satisfied with company and service till now. Never had home claim and only minor auto claims over that period. Had a ice auto claim and that was handled very well, great service, in fact. But now received auto renewal and rate went up over 30% without any violations or claim over their accident forgiveness clause. Was told that they now have new rating matrices and that is the way it is, not because of ice claim.

    rip-off, August, 2013

    We had our roof inspected upon purchasing of our house and it was superb in their eyes. After two years (roof said to have at least 7 years left on it) and several storms, we made a claim. They denied our claim and instructed us to repair the missing rigde cap. We complied with instructions given us. And did so on two separate occasions additionally. Now we are into our 14th year and they are threatening to terminate our insurance if we do not replace the roof. We made a claim a couple of months ago and once again we were told the roof was fine and only needed patching. Why did we pay them premiums directly from escrow that was never short and always prompt? Just to flush it down the roof gutter, I suppose.

    No Problems, May, 2016

    Water hose faucet caused water pipe leak in my basement. EMC paid me depreciated cost amount of water damage up front and the rest to fully replace after I had the damage repaired.
