actual cash value, August, 2012
Our home is built as strong as a site built home. We have not only taken care of our home but have put thousands into it to make it better than ever. Now Citizens want to reduce the value. I find this an underhanded way to reduce policies.
Dissatisfaction with current company, May, 2012
Prior to obtaining insurance with Citizens, we were insured with a couple of other companies. The first company we had, discontinued insuring in Florida. The second company we had also discontinued insuring in Florida. As we have a manufactured home, it is extremely difficult to find a company that will insure in FL. At the time we got Citizens, they were the only company who would insure our house because we live in Florida, even though we do not live along the coast. I would not recommend Citizens to anyone unless, like us, they are desperate. Citizens has now lessened our coverage, and are in the process of upping our premiums.
shrinkage, January, 2013
They were shrinking their base of older homes and transferred my account to another company with an increased annual premium. In retrospect it was not actually that high comparing the recent quote from a new agent.
CITIZENS CUSTORMERS COMPLAINTS., June, 2012
CITIZENS ARE LIKE THE MAFIA,THEY KEEP INCREASEING
THE PREMIUMS,WHILE THEY CONTINUE TO REDUCE THE COVERAGE,WE FILED A CLAIM 2011,FOR DAMAGES WE HAD IN OUR HOME,CITIZEN DENIED OUR CLAIM,WE HAVE HIRED
TWO SETS OF ATTONEYS.SOMETHING SHOULD BE DONE ABOUT THIS COMPANY.
BAD COMPANY, April, 2012
I AM CURRENTLY INSUREED WITH CITIZENS BECAUSE NO OTHER COMPANY WAS WRITING COVERAGE IN MY AREA.
CITIZENS IS TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THEIR MONOPLLY, POOR SERVICE,HIGH RATES.
Stop the insanity! , April, 2015
We as Florida's citizens are tired of being pushed around by this company. Follow @florida_citizen on twitter if you feel the same way.
Great Auto Insurance, Handling Claim, But increase, June, 2014
I am a very satisfied Citizens home/auto customer. My car was totalled. They handled my claim quickly, Towing was handled with excellence, and paid for the vehicle sooner than I ever expected. Of course my rate dramatically increased afterwards. But, they were outstanding as an insurance company compared to Farmers or any others.
The cost is out of control, esp in view of the reduced coverage
Linda K Sterling, July, 2012
I have had no problems with Citizens but they are trying to get out of paying for the older homes(mobile)in our area and per letter today,if they find that the value of our home is not adequate for their coverage,we will be dropped.
We have two Florida rooms that are finished and furnished-glass enclosed attached to the main home which should account for some value I would think.
It isn't right, May, 2012
I was dropped by the company because I missed a payment. I can understand the policy being cancelled but then to not allow you to get another policy with them is rediculous. I have a mobile home in Florida, almost impossible to find coverage for and then one of the only companies to offer insurance drops you permantly for an error. It is not right.
Costly insurance, April, 2012
I need insurance for my home which is not cost an aarm and a leg. we need fordable insurnce coverage
., April, 2016
Never use Citizens again, February, 2016
I had a flood in my house caused by a burst water heater. 10 months later Citizens are still putting up a big fight and don't want to pay me for my damages. Now I have no choice but to sue them.
Good cheap choice, September, 2015
Although it has been my only option, I am satisfied with the price, billing options, and customer service. I am only checking to see if there are other alternatives.
Seeking options for homeowners insurance, January, 2013
Premiums increase this year
Home Insure, January, 2013
After settlement with another Home Insurer, Citizens became our only option.
I FIND THE YEARLY COST VERY HIGH.
Insurance, October, 2012
Very good would recommend to anyone, trustworthy,I have not had a chance to try customer service, I am sure they are great
Our history, October, 2012
Our home was damaged by a suspected sink hole in 2009. Our insurance company settled the claim for full coverage.
It was repaired by AWARD ENGINEERING. They drove 34 pins around the entire foundation, not just the one corner of the house effected by the ground movement. A complete report is available.
THE COST IS VERY HIGH AND CAN ONLY SPEAK WITH THE AGENT, FOR RETIREE'S IT SHOULD BE SOME WAY TO KEEP THE COST DOWN.
insurance quotes, August, 2012

Desire for Competitive Quotes, July, 2012
We purchased our home in August of 2010 and sought Homeowners Insurance. In the past, in other states, we
had choices. Here in Florida, only one company, Citizens,
appeared to be available.
We would like a comparison.
