Horrible customer service !!!, August, 2016
The agent stood up my 96 yr old father for 3 appointments and then referred us on to the home office. They would not give us a valid reason to refuse claim payment. I waited 6 hours for a call from a supervisor, who never did call back. Need to get a lawyer and file a consumer complaint now.
Avoid this company like the plague, April, 2017
Everything is hunky-dory with this company when they are taking your money. I cancelled my policy with them before 1-1-2017, which was my effective date with my new company, but they decided to take money from my account in January. I realized this when my statement came in Feb., and I immediately called and requested they give my money back. I have sent at least 3 letters with the information they requested. Every time I would send one, I would get a letter back saying they needed more. I have also called numerous times and continue to get the run-around from them, especially from Dawn Webb , who was supposedly put "in charge" of my case. Now, they want me to contact my new insurance company to have them change my effective date so they don't have to pay back the money. I should put myself and my new company out because these greedy bastards screwed up and now want ME to jump through hopes because their sorry asses screwed up. Not gonna happen.

My mother has long term care policy. Agents just want to sell policy, when time comes to enter a claim, they are not at all helpful! Not their job, call 800 number and try and work through the hoops! Stay away from this company, and your aspirin bill will go down.

Don't ever use this company or let a loved one use it. My mother paid into her long-term care policy with this company for 20 years and when she, as a result of finally being diagnosed with Alzheimer's and not quite understanding what she was doing, cancelled it, they refused to reinstate her. To be fair, they did not have a copy of the Power of Attorney which would have prompted them to check with me. Even after I provided a copy of the POA which had been in effect at the time my mother cancelled, they still refused to reinstate her. Bankers Life and Casualty has put my mother on Medicaid and there is no way we can afford the type of quality care she will need.
