My family filed a claim with Allstate after our home was broken into. After a month, no resolution with claim and my family is still having to deal with cut up mattresses and furniture along with busted televisions. We are now on our third adjuster along with a fourth who came to the house weeks ago to take pictures f the damages. The only thing taken during the robbery was some money, the rest of the damage was as I consider vandalism. In my opinion Allstate is acting in "Bad Faith" when it comes to our claim. We have contacted corporate offices, our agent, management in claims and multiple other departments and we are being told they don't have to answer any questions for us, nor do they have to resolve our claim in any certain amount of time. This should be illegal for Allstate to act in this manner.. Unethical.

My mom has Allstate and when my dad passed away she accidentally flooded the house. Allstate's adjuster wouldn't pay for hardly anything. They gave my mom a lowball offer, deffer, denied, and wouldn't give her enough to fix her house. We ended up getting black mold because they said we insurance wouldn't pay to cut out the Sheetrock that was impacted with so much water!!! They kicked my mom and sister out of a hotel. Then we hired a contractor/ public adjuster which got them back into a hotel. The amount the gave my mom was 6,090 but in the end they had to pay us 46,000 which took 6 mons to make them pay for the lost. Their lowball offer was 6,090 that's a hug difference! Do yourself a favor if you have a water lost. Cut the Sheetrock it can't be save!! Call a public adjuster or an attorney before you call your insurance company!! They will deal with the insurance company for you. They normally take 10 percent of what they can get you which I highly suggest because what you don't know what you deserve Allstate will just leave it in line their pockets. Allstate adjusters will bully to accept less. Read about allstates tactics to wear you out until you decided to accept less!!

Hurricane Matthew damage to roof, fence, pool. Treated like fools by three different adjusters brought in from out of state. Came up with exclusions to coverage that not even local agent aware of. Their idea of Good Hands coverage was approx 10% of total of local estimates obtained. Paid high priced premiums for years and was first ever claim. We essentially had NO insurance. Don't be filled by slick advertising.

After suffering a robbery of our home, Allstate all but slapped us in the face and basically we felt completely robbed again. 10K of items stolen, including a safe which held a diamond ring with an official appraisal which we had photos of. Not only did allstate take 3 months to respond to the claim, they came back with a $354.00 check. It was literally surreal. They claimed we needed to list all our items with them or they are not covered. Also if someone is living there for 5 years with proof, but is not on the actual deed, then nothing they owned is covered at all!!! it was the most horrific experience to be violated and then to get completely violated again by the people you pay to protect you. the worst company ever, total scam.

We filed a claim for our roof, fence and windows for the 1st time in over 15 years and they denied our claim. Felt like they treated me like I was lying. They denied our claim because they said that the damages were not wind or hail related which was bullsh*t. Never again!

We will be switching from AllState ASAP. Their customer service is a joke. They do not respond in a timely manner to claims. Took 12 days to get someone out to look at the problem. He wouldnt even climb under the house where the problem was & denied the damage anyway. Problem was listed as a sewer backup...this was never corrected either. Will be cancelling as soon as all of our paperwork comes through. Don't waste your hard earned money. Complete waste!

On 7/13/15 an area in Woodridge Illinois experienced a hail damage event, as documented by the national weather service. Many homes in the area had damaged roofs, and in the area that I live 85 roof replacement permits have been issued between 8/1/15 and 3/31/16. Many homes were visited by roofing companies that knew our area had damage. I had a roofer come out and stated that he did see roof damage and he showed me pictures. We did file a claim, and Allstate sent out a team of two to review the roof. Allstate found NO hail damage on our roof. Coincidentally our neighbor was also having their home inspected (State Farm) and they were granted a new roof. We are left to conclude that Allstate treats policyholders differently than other insurance companies.

How can I replace tiles on my roof if they are discontinued? My HOA does not allow for any mismatch. My policy allows for mismatch. I am stuck with replacing a roof out of pocket. That's the homeowner policy. That's good hands.

When I purchased this company for our home owner insurance I asked Jay for flood and homeowner. But when I got my policy I only had homeowners. Allstate would not fix the problem and when I called in they were rude and Ashley even hung up on me when she felt like the call was done for her. They don't care for their customers only about the money they get from you. I found a better company that was friendly, nice and family caring. I would not recommend Allstate to my family friends not my own dog for that matter.

Had a sudden leak from AC in attic. Phone adjuster spoke as if everything would be covered, no worries. TEN days later field adjuster finally comes out and within less than 2 minutes says "we don't cover damage related to AC and things you turn on and off"....Most ridiculous excuse I have ever heard to dodge a claim, if so it should be in bold on policy, and phone adjuster should have told me that 10 days ago. STAY AWAY from Allstate.

I have been a customer of Allstate for over 11 years and previously insured with various other companies for about 20 years. I have had 3 accidents or so in my family over the 11 years and the most recent was a car totaled. I was very upset about the car being totaled. Allstate was very understanding and made the claims process smooth and also paid off the bank quickly and settle with me. The agent was excellent and the Adjuster. I have always found the local people to be wonderful to work with. I did not use an 800 number.

Many, many, many complaints. Most recent (and what drove me to another company), they raised my insurance payments by $10 per month--$60 for 6 months! I called and asked why, was told: "Because we can." They went on to explain that the insurance commission said they could, so they did! I've had 2 agents, and they were both awful!!!!! I could go on and on, but why? These people are dishonest and more interested in gouging clients than providing decent insurance. I went to another company, got MORE insurance for $45 less a month! And that was another major company.

As soon as our claim is settled we will find another company. Allstate was cheaper, but in this case you definitely get what you pay for. Our daughter came around a curve on a country road to face a John Deere sprayer. He had no escort and had been drinking. She went off the road a little out of reflex. She still went under the sprayer and came out. Thankfully, she is ok. But guess what? Allstate tried to say it was 50/50!!! We tried to work with them, but the best they would do was 70/30!! They're still saying it's part her fault. And that's not the first time we had something like that happen to us with them. I guess that is why they have terrible ratings.

My car has been in the shop for SEVEN days and the claim to cover the damages from my collision will not be covered because the collision, which caused my fan to collide into the radiator and puncture a new radiator, which dumped all of the coolant out is said by Allstate to not be covered because there is not enough body damage to the car. The scratches to the undercarriage are regular "wear and tare." Also, Peter Martin (Regional Manager Eastern Territory Auto Claims) said: "Just to let you know, when a car is in a collision that causes damage to the INTERNAL motor is not something that we cover unless the car is a TOTAL LOSS. We do not cover ANY internal parts that are damaged." "So," I said: "Let me get this straight. I pay over a hundred dollars a month for total coverage on my car and if I am in a collision, Allstate will not cover damage to my engine unless it is a total loss?" And Mr. Martin responded: "Well, let's not get hypothetical about this, but we are going to deny your claim because you have damage to the internal engine and we do not cover that unless it is a total loss." In complaining to the executive office, Mrs. Kathy Anderson is to be avoided at ALL costs! She is the rudest individual at Allstate.
I like the company and the service. Their rates just keep going up too much each year, so I am checking other companies. They were originally less, but no longer.

Over the last 3 years our premium has gone up and up and up we've never had a claim in 30 years. I have issues with services that border on theft! No reason whatsoever for these increases. I recognize the cost to replace but com on guys, no claims ever!

I was an Allstate customer for about seven years. Things went fine until I submitted a claim for my roof. The relationship immediately became adversarial. Allstate was slow to respond to my claim. The adjuster turned down the claim after a 5-minute inspection. Representatives from two roofing companies told me my roof was obviously damaged by wind and hail, but Allstate was more difficult to work with on claims than other companies. I tried to pursue an appeal, but after struggling with Allstate's bureaucracy for two more weeks, I got frustrated, dropped the claim and got a new insurance company.

I don't even know where to begin with this. I am a 19 year customer with Allstate, but after this, there will not be a 20th year. I've paid my policies on time, if not early and when I need them, they aren't there.
My home was burglarized and I was offered an amount that doesn't begin to cover what was taken. Not only that, but when I asked for an appeal of the amount, I was told there wasn't one. That was a bald face lie. I did get someone to look over the amount, but of course that didn't go anywhere.
And it's not just that. Allstate wasn't fair to my daughter when her computer was stolen a couple of years ago, as well as not being able to count on Allstate with any hurricane damage I've had in the past. Long story short, I am changing insurance companies and I do not recommend Allstate to anyone! I've had it!!!

As soon as my claim is over I am DONE with Allstate. Never again will I go with them. My fiance and I were planning to change all of his information to Allstate and bundle with homeowners when we got our house. That will DEFINITELY NOT be happening now. They have delayed my claim, cut me off for my rental car - because they took so long. They return 1/3 calls - if you're lucky. They have don't absolutely nothing to help me. On top of it all, the accident wasn't even my fault. I will never go with Allstate and I have been and continue to tell everyone to never go with Allstate

My dad is 89 years old. He has been paying home insurance to Allstate on his home for 28 years. Never had a claim. A few months ago he made a claim because his water heater exploded. The floor was damaged as well as rugs and some furniture.
He was given such a hard time about the claim. They did not cover any of the furniture nor the rugs that were damaged.
Now Allstate raised his rates to almost double. We were told it's because he made a claim on his policy. All those commercials you hear about being in good hands? What a joke! We are very unhappy with Allstate. My dad lives on social security and now he has to pay almost double because he made one claim in 28 years.

The premiums were reasonable, but in 5 years since I have the policies (for cars and homes-they won't do homes without the cars!) they increased 50%.
All good as long as I paid, but when I claimed the hail damage on the roof, I've got the most fantastic versions of explanations, from forensic to "highly experienced" roofers secrets! The entire subdivision had the roofs changed in the last two months but not my house.
Just move your money somwhere else, you may just need to claim something!

about five years ago I had an Allstate policy for both my home and car and was happy. My agent sold his business and I was given to a lady in nearby (35 miles) Knoxville. I chose to find a new company because I wanted an agent closer to me. I never met the new agent but she called me several times a year. I called and told her office I was no longer a client and they said they would stop calling....a year later the calls persisted. I called them again and also sent an email. I told them I am no longer insured by Allstate. I was told the calls would quit..todayI got another call reminding me what a valuable customer I was and wanted to insure my every need was addressed in my insurance.

I went with Allstate for home and auto, and they wanted to inspect the house so I said fine, set up dates and they never showed up. Turns out the inspector claims they couldn't find my huge obvious house on a historic block, so they canceled the policy and NEVER TOLD US it was canceled. We were months with no coverage until I discovered the cancellation. To add insult to injury, they refused to restart the coverage! They are the worst, this borders on criminal negligence.

Have been insured by Allstate for auto and home for over 20 years. Had my very first accident! Repairs cost Allstate $600 and my premium went up $500!!! So apparently my premiums over 20 years went in their pockets. They certainly didn't go toward the repair.

Terrible Company!!! I was with Allstate for 30 YEARS!! .. and was never missed a payment. Policy was NOT renewed because 1)Did not have vehicle insurance with them. 2) Home exceeded 10 years. 3) Had less than $220,000 Coverage A protection. I would not recommend them to anyone.

Recent increase of policy cost by over 22% has promted me to check elsewhere for another policy. I have been with Allstate for over 50 years with no claims yet they continue to increase the cost.

Called to have my policy canceled on the 11th. Told her I would like it to be canceled on the 14th and she reassured me the payment would not be take out of my account, because that is right before my payment was due. On the 15th the 282 was taken out of my account. I called the lady she said she did not see where the policy was canceled, but did see that I called the 11th. She said she would cancel it and I would be refunded the amount of the payment on the 15th. Called back on the 20th just to make sure it was canceled and that the credit was being worked on, she said it was but for 138.00. My payment on the 15th was for 282. If I would have originally been given all the information I would not be so upset but it seems like no one at allstate is on the same page with what they are doing. Will never recommend anyone to them, for home or automobile.

We had this policy for years and loved it, until we got into our first accident. They said they would look at the car, but when we called a week later they said they had auto junked it as it was more than 5 years old. We were told we could have a rental car for 30 days, the policy was that they would pay for it. After 7 days they called and said they wouldn't pay even though our policy said they would and we had to straighten that out. We had to wait two weeks for the check and then found out the car would be fixed and sold at auction! The only problems were cosmetic and the air bags! They then called to say that because we had been in one accident in 10 YEARS we were no longer worth their time and they were auto terminating our policy. We even had accident forgiveness and safe driver perks! Some way to treat loyal customers.

We have been with them for about 2 1/2 years and have never had a claim or a ticket in about 10 years.
First, they called me and asked me where I live and where my husband moved to. I told them that we live in the house that we have insured through them and that we have lived here for 18 years. They argued until I finally just hung up on them. Next, some idiot removed both comp and collision from both of my cars for no apparent reason about 2 months ago. My agent saw the error and put it back on.
I paid my bill via a burner debit card because I don't use my real debit card online. I got 3 emails thanking me for my payment in full. About 6 days later, I got another "thanks for your payment" email from them informing me that they'd taken $68.20 out of my checking acct. I had not gotten any bill for this and I have no idea what it was for. The money they took overdrew my account, so now I have a $30.00 overdraft charge as well as an overdrawn acct.I called my agent who called the company and was told, "oh, that was a computer glitch" and that it wasn't supposed to be billed until next month". She told them that this is illegal and told them to put it back asap. It's been 10 days and still no sign of the money or the OD charge back in my account. They told my agent"it takes a long time to process" and "we are working on it". It's funny how quickly they took it, but now can't seem to put it back. The second I see that money back in my account, I'm closing it and am dumping them. They are idiots and thieves and you cannot trust them at all. My agent is nice and says she is "totally embarrased and that she's sorry", but that is not helpful at this point. ALLSTATE SUCKS!!!!!!! I will be saving the emails and filing a complaint with the insurance commission right after I close my checking acct.

I switched to allstate insurance because it had lower premiums than my previous insurance company. I regret I did it. First of all, Allstate customer service is the worst. I applied for auto and renters insurance online, filled out all the forms and made all payments and after couple weekds received temporary insurance cards with some docs which I needed to sign and mailed back. After another couple weeks I received renters insurance with MISSPELLED names... I tried to contact allstate by email or through their website -- they never ever replied my emails.
Even bigger PROBLEM happened with autoinsurance -- after one month I still haven't received my autoinsurance. I called Allstate multiple times asking why my insurance is not ready. They always answered that everything is fine and policy is being prepared, but just 2 weeks before expiration of temporary card, I found out on allstate website that my POLICY IS TERMINATED!!! I called them immediately and they couldn't answer why they terminated the policy, but said that they will investigate and call me back, and they called me back after 2 days and said that my driving license is invalid, which is rediculous. I sent them photocopy of my driving license and they admitted that it's valid driving license, but said that they cannot change state of my insurance even though they terminated it by their mistake.
I wasted so much time with allstate. They are worst insurance company!!!

We had an increase in premiums last year, when we called to inquire why, the agent said "it's a new policy, everyone got an increase, it happens about every 10years" which is utter B.S.
Next, don't file more than two legitimate claims in the span of 10 years. Acts of god, nature, wind, hail, tornadoes, those which are included in your policy, they will fight you to the end. Low-balling claims is their specialty - we have had to pay 3-4 times the costs to repair and replace that which was damaged by wind and hail. We were told to not file claims for "small things like wind and hail damage" but "wait for a catastrophic event like a fire or tornado with complete loss to file a claim, you'll get more". More B.S.
So, wind, hail, tornadoes being acts of god, nature, and not under your control, all get low-balled to the extreme in your claim. God forbid you live in an area where the wind blows or hail happens. When you need a roof over your head, Allstate doesn't feel that's important. When you need new windows (as expressed by the adjustor), Allstate doesn't feel that's important. But god forbid, if you suffer a catastrophic event where you lose everything, you MIGHT get their attention to a claim, or you may not and be cancelled instead.
Where is the Insurance Commission? Why is it not protecting policyholders? Why are we paying high premiums when Allstate low-balls to the point where you gotta wonder why you pay the premiums at all!!

All State agent continued to escallate in price of my insurance. Every time I purchased a new car (NO ACCIDENTS) regardless of lower price of vehicle they continued to raise my rates. When asked why they said the vehicle was new.
Finally All State called and asked why we left after 18 years. When we told them why, they agreed the agent was wrong. They asked how they could get our business back. I told them if they gave me a year at no charge (even though it cost me more over 18 years) they said they could not do it.
I cannot figure how they continue to stay in business at this rate, but there are suckers born every minute.
I figure they will lose money over the remainder of my life as I will stay with my current insurance company.

I just wanted a quote for auto home and boat and they refused to quote me because they said I had a few late pays on my credit report and they refused to sell me insurance. What is funny I have never been late on any insurance bill. However we did have a few late pays when I lost my job a few years ago with other payments. DO NOT USE THESE GUYS THERE ARE OTHER COMPANIES OUT THERE WILLING TO DO BUSINESS WITH YOU I HAVE PROVEN THAT. THE HELL WITH ALLSTATE AND OTHERS WHO TREAT CUSTOMERS LIKE THAT.

Have had Allstate for over 40 years with minimal claims. Severe hail storm in area destroyed roofs, siding, windows, and cars. Filed claim which was simple and fast. Refused to provide coverage for 15% of siding not damaged by storm but would not match new siding being installed. One of few home owners in area that had problems of this type

I had two policies due to illness fell behind in one My auto policy was terminated. I was told to make the payment on the a certain date I did via automated as usual but the system paid on my home insurance instead of auto and instead of me being notified they sent termination to DMV my license got canceled and I was penalized. When I asked Allstate to back date my policy because I did pay it but the payment applied to wrong policy. I was told that the underwriters refused to renew the policy so I'm stuck with DMV fees. When I went in the local office I was basically told that they can give policy to whoever they want and be glad they gave me a new policy. I think they are prejudice because I never have been misused without a blink of an eye. That manager looked me straight in my face leened backed in his chair and told m they not going to back date it was done is done and escorted me to the door. They are a big company and mistreat probably 30% of there customers who maybe older customers that been with them for years or of certain ethnic back round. I never had a claim filed.

Have been with Allstate since they took over CNA. CNA should have taken over Allstate. They are a good starter company but fail when you get a plane, jet, big boat, need earthquake insurance or want to insure your antique car or boat. So great when you are 30 but as you make more and buy more stuff, they cannot cover or are not priced to cover your boat . So you I use BOATS US which is Allstate. Go figure. CNA had one statement. Allstate sends so many confusing statements that it is really client abuse. But have been fair and good but really marketing to average person who owns nothing.

Let me start out by saying I switched to them from a previous insurance company who had a rate way to high for a new car. I switched to allstate as they were lower in price and had some benefits. I was paying 190 a month for a year. All of a sudden I come home after a 13 hour long shift and get a letter from allstate saying here is my new payment schedule. Wouldn't you like to know that I had been accident from all year long with them and the new payments were listed as 325!!!!???
I called this thinking merely a mistake. I was told by a guy who said " oh well its because of the state, your state made the price go up". I said " Oh why would it double?" he responded by saying " well to many people put claims into the state so now we have to charge more." SO clearly I was mad by this point because why should I pay because of some jerk who kept hitting cars? Also we have had an extremely bad winter with near record breaking inches of snow!!!!! HOW IS IT MY PROBLEM? AND WHY ARE MY PAYMENTS DOUBLED!!!??
I told him to get his manager to fix this. He said his manager was busy. I told him fine I will wait on hold then. 10 mins go by and the guy comes back and said " My manager looked over your account there is no mistake but it went up because of a 17% discount we took off your account...." I FLIPPED OUT YET AGAIN!!!! So they said it was the state now they say they removed a discount for no reason??!
I said " I told you to get your manager, if he came over to you to discuss my account he should just come back over and talk on the phone because that is what I told you to do". another 10 min go by and some man came on the phone said there was nothing that can be done in a very nonchalant way. I said "you better fix this because theres no way you're scamming me and doubling my money for no good reason." he said ( being a jerk now ) " Oh heres the reason, its because you got into an accident in 2013. so thats why." HOW DOES THAT MAKE SENSE WHEN I JOINED THEM IN 2014 well after a YEAR of the accident . The policy would be affected when i joined not 2 years later after the accident. I told him this and also said " what would happen if you went home and found out that your rent is being doubled because your complex owned from 3 years ago didn't like you? " he merely just laughed at me and started getting rude and sarcastic over it all. Didn't care and also wanted to put this matter "high priority"..
It gets better because I had to go to class the next day and told them i wanted a call before the end of day on monday since it had been saturday when i called. She called back alright. She called at 4:26pm while i am at work and i called at 4:28pm and got her voicemail saying she leaves at 4;30pm. *(yeah fxk you too)* so i demanded by this point a phone call before 11:15 so That i could get to class on time and deal with this matter. I GET A PHONE CALL FROM THIS DUMB LADY AT 11:16. She merely told me theres nothing to do. That it wasn't her fault, that it was a policy that because i got my windshield replaced that thats why it went up.
SO NOW THE EXCUSES ARE :
State went up in claims,
the 17% discount removed ( which was actually a good driving discount and was removed because of the windshield )
windshield replacement ( which in their eyes is an AT FAULT accident)
They refused to tell me why the real reason is for them charging me double my original payment. I switched to a different company all together.
Maybe all state can go FCK THEMSELVES with the scams they are trying to pull.

Had Allstate for an extended period of time. I never had a bad experience using their auto insurance. The issue is that their rates are VERY EXPENSIVE. They raised my rate every single pay period, and every time I dropped protections (dropped a vehicle, went from full coverage to comprehensive, etc.) they just raised it back up. Finally I was left with bare minimum cover for ONE CAR and was paying more than an excessive amount of money. They hit me with bogus charges constantly, but somehow validated these charges over the phone. Not sure if I'd reccomend Allstate, they don't stick with their quotes.

I filed claim on my fixed indemnity policy. It pays out $250 any time one of us is transported by ambulance to a hospital or ER. It was originally denied because Allstate didn't read the claim properly. They apologized and said they would process it again. They denied it again saying no coverage at time of service. My service coverage began on 1/1/2015 and the incident occurred on 1/27/15..... I will be contacting them again. It seems like they simply don't want to pay..

This is the worst customer Service I've ever received. IT's so odd because It use to be good. I was planning to renew but after the service I received. FORGET IT!!! I just called the East Brunswick NJ Allstate to find out about the dollar a day program due to limited funds for auto 1insurance. Instead of helping me to obtain an insurance policy, this branch of Allstate decided to tell me to look elsewhere - through the insurance company I no longer wish to have. They did not even want me as a customer. Their branch was specifically listed on the state governments website as a company I could reach out to. I will never attempt to hire Allstate for an insurance policy again. I wish I could put 0 Stars. No customer service, and a pretty degrading and short conversation.

I refuse to pay interest for installment plan on any insurance policy. A fee is okay, but interest is not considered industry standard to me. I want to shop around and see what I may have been missing out on by blindly following Allstate just because I have always done business with them. They are a very good reputable company with excellent personal customer service but the requirement to pay an annual premium for Homeowners policy unless having to pay interest is not what I want.

Allstate totaled our vehicle when it could have been repaired because their appraiser stated a low FMV. I had an independent appraiser and they would not accept my appraiser or even work between the two. I was robbed & I am a senior citizen so I could not replace what I had.

After willingly paying whatever allstate requested on both home and auto for many years, and having a perfect record, my car was damaged in a rear end collision. Allstate decided it wasn't worth it to them to pay for repairs, and offered one quarter of the trade in value, or less than half of the lowest street value. Their employee stated that everyone has to make money. So I'm paying premium for years, thinking I would be covered if ever there was an actual problem, and all they're doing is making more money off of my loss. This is breech of contract. Anyone else in this position needs to take them to court too. Allstate will not cover you in case of a problem- they will only steal your money with false pretensis of coverage.

I have been with Allstate Insurance since 1986. I have always had good service from them. For the last 20 or so years, I have had 6 cars, a utility trailer, 2 motorcycles, and 2 homes insured with Allstate. Of course they always made sure we were aware of all the perks and discounts that we were receiving by having so many vehicles and our home owners combined. There was never a reason to look outside of Allstate for insurance. I just figured with multiple policies, discounts, etc., that Allstate was the company for me. Boy was I wrong. I just looked into switching to ********* insurance and I saved almost $3000/year just for the vehicles. That is unbelievable. I figured that I could save a few hundred dollars but $3000? No wonder Allstate provided us with such good service - THEY WERE RIPPING US OFF FOR OVER 20 YEARS. It really does not pay to be a loyal consumer these days. My agent Harny Rios located at 10757 W. Grand Ave., Sun City, Arizona 85351. Poor knowledge of product also customer service. Mr. Rios and sales associates in his office were not available for one week. During this time period I had an issue with my policy. There was no way of getting in touch with him or any sales associate. I called customer service (800#) and all they had to offer was "I'm sorry" and "I can't help you with that issue your agent has to handle that". There was no information given to customers prior to the week that he was not going to be available. This was not during a holiday, if so that would be understandable. After a week I called the office again and was told had been on vacation for eight days. That's great everyone needs one, but not to leave someone in the office to assist customers during this period I feel is totally unprofessional. During that eight days my policy was cancelled unknowing by me. Needless to say I'm very disappointed in him as an agent.

We were Progressive customers for many years and we decided to shop around to see if we could get a better quote. We contacted Allstate and they said unfortunately you have too many incidences on your record, but in a few weeks somethings will drop off. This same agent called us (2-3 weeks later)and explained that he can now save us some money on insurance. $80 less than what we were paying. So we decided to jump on board! Progressive insurance ended 7/7/16 and Allstate started 7/7/16. Today's date is 8/19/16 and we just received a cancellation letter due to too many incidences on our record. The one that tipped the scale was on 7/24/13 😡 Which at this point was already GONE and they are still dropping us! What's worse is that they KNEW about ALL of our incidents so it's not like we were trying to hide information!!!!! Now we are left to find insurance with 2 months of coverage and we left Progressive with our great payment history! I've tried to get them to reverse their decision before I wrote this and they flat out told me "once the decision is made there is no way to overturn it"

I've had a few issues with Allstate but, we'll start with the first and get to the most recent which is why I'm here...
First issue was from my first car accident. It was with an elderly woman who was backing out of her parking spot as I was backing out of mine. I wasn't moving in her direction, however, she was moving in mine, and before I knew it, I heard a crunch.
According to the woman, she was sorry and it was her fault. According to Allstate, it was about 70/30. Suffice it to say, I was unable to repair the damage from the accident with what I received.
Issue two came when I decided I did want to get repairs done...You pay a deductible and the money you've been paying all this time covers the cost, right? Ideally....however, what actually happened was my premium was raised on top of that. By around 50%. I question why I'm even paying month to month at this point....
Since then I've moved on to another company. However I've learned that I've been charged for not having insurance since I had my car and that's why it isn't paid off. Sweet! I just need to provide letters of experience from my insurance companies and I'm good to go. Allstate's personnel kindly found the info I had but said they had to put in the request for a letter of experience. They don't do it personally. I eventually get it....but it's for a six month term instead of the full period. So I chock it up to miscommunication...It's been a few months now, and I've repeated this process about 5 times or so with the same results. And unfortunately, until they get me the complete info, I'll be paying extra on my car when it would be paid off and I could be looking for a new one.

I am 64 years old and signed up with Allstate for a home policy and an auto policy. I have to pay monthly payments because of limited income. My first payment was due on the 4th of the month and I went online and payed it on the 6th. The next week I received a cancellation notice. They also took away their so called good payer discount and raised my payment by 14 dollars a month. I have never heard of this happening in my lifetime. Now I have wonder if I am covered from day to day through this company. It seems like a scam. These insurance companies lobby the government and write the laws so I guess that legally they are in the right because their state buddies go along with them. This is very scary stuff to an old guy like me that has a hard time budgeting for that payment anyway. These companies control you with the company that you finance your car through, they control whether you can get your car registered every year and they control whether you can get your drivers license or not. If you get pulled over by the police you are not sure whether or not you are covered and you could get a huge fine or even lose your car. What in the world is going on in America??

Had to sell both cars (dad died & mom doesn't drive). Sold cars and cancelled policy within the 60 day renewal date. No refund of unused premium because they don't do that. They roll the decrease into the next renewal premium. However, with no cars to insure there was no renewal. So they kept the unused premium for both the cars that were sold. Credited my "renewal" for $1100+ for first car sold. But no refund. Since there was NO car left to insure...there was no renewal policy. HOW IS THIS FAIR?? State Insurance commissioner couldn't help. Allstate should not be allowed to cheat customers out of unused insurance premiums. No other insurance company does that.

After 10 years with this company and having all of my policies with them, I put in a claim after being hit by an uninsured motorists. Not only did this company not pay the claim they twisted the events to make it my fault and paid nothing. As if that was not enough; "The good hands people" then placed a 2500.00 judgment against me for hiring an attorney and taking them to court to receive the product I purchased, underinsured-uninsured. I lost of course because they have team of professional liars/lawyers who are skilled at getting out of paying claims and seem to enjoy it for some perverse reason. An appeal would cost me thousands more therefore I have decided against it. I will however be taking my business elsewhere now. I would run not walk from this company. This was the service I received for 10 years of customer loyalty. Horrible Company!

Signed up with this company as the previous one was raising premium price every six months with no clear logic. After I paid allstate the first time, the next premium was increased as well by 20 bucks. Oh well I thought... but the third payment is again increased by 20 bucks. Called the local agent and I couldn't believe my ears... because the company had sustained losses, and because they wanted to pay more for labor work, they had increased prices for all of the customers!!!? In my understanding if someone is not fit for purpose, perhaps should find something else that is good for, and not take their customers money for their not able to manage their profits. Allstate sent me a personalized letter informing me that I was pre-approved for a special auto insurance rate. The sample quote was based on a car similar to mine, with similar comprehensive coverages ($100K/$300K) for a 6-month premium of only $160.00 ($26.67/mo). This was half of what I was paying GEICO (incredible!). Since I've had no accidents or tickets in may years, and have a good credit rating, I called the Allstate agent referenced in the letter to immediately switch. After 45 minutes of answering the application questions, I was finally quoted a 6-month premium rate that was over $600 - nearly TWICE my GEICO rate! When I asked the agent why Allstate had initially quoted me such a low premium rate, the agent said she also received bogus auto insurance rate estimates like mine from Allstate (her company) - that no one could possibly qualify for. She said she had no idea how Allstate came up with those sucker premium rates. So I wasted nearly an hour because of Allstates' unscrupulous snail-mail marketing program. Now I'll NEVER consider Allstate, and will tell all my friends and family just how unethical their marketing is.

Allstate continual messed up our policy's, billing virtually every aspect of our insurance. We finally left them because we purchased new cars and they screwed up our covereage yet again. We went with another company and got better coverage for less money. All of our policys were swiched over but due to yest another screw up with our former agent we are being charged because they forgot to cancel our homeowners. I have never seen a more inept company in my intire life. I will never recommend them to anyone else and I will endeavor to tell everyone how bad allstate is and to not utilize them unless they enjoy having to make repeated calls to fix problems that you are assured will be fixed. I have written a lengthy review earlier and I don't know how to look for it. I submitted it as I rated 4 to 5 stars on rating scale. I cannot at this time do another. Bottom line is that our agent Reid Tokujo and our claims adjuster really work in sync and any policy holder would definitely want that kind of correspondence, resulting or favoring more than expected claims settlements expectations, I feel. I really think that we are really lucky to have a team like Reid and Welton of Kailua, Honolulu, Hawaii to assist or handle our claim, as I get over reactive when it comes to anxiety, but I feel very confident about our Allstate's team that's truly loyal with their policy holders, of course not with anyone knowingly submits a claim with fraudulent intentions, as these kinds of delinquents will be caught up with, some thinking they succeeded in defrauding their insurance company but email@example.com all catch up with these deserving worms. GO ALLSTATE, especially when you have a team as they, that I mentionend that's committed with persistence, diligence and true loyalty. I spoke with a representative of Allstate on the phone to set up insurance for my minivan. She kept laughing in the background and was difficult to understand. I'd just put all my info into allstate's website and made a payment using my debit card. A confirmation link came up but wouldn't let me click on it. When I spoke with the representative on the phone, she told me my payment went through. Well 5 days later I was in a small fender bender and I called Allstate to get my insurance info for the other driver and Allstate said they had no record of me at all. So because of their own websites glitch, my payment never went through and they said they had no record of their own representative calling me even though I have a record of them calling on my phone. They refused to help me so I had to pay over $2000 out of my own pocket. It's just not worth the risk to get insurance with Allstate, go somewhere else.

Kept charging me for a truck I sold. Changed my policy to plpd even when I still had a lean on my car. Then told me it was a good thing I didn't get on an accident because I signed for it, then told me I don't know how the policy got changed, but i would have been responsible. The same way they kept changing it so I have to pay for a truck I sold 2 yrs ago. Fought 2 get my credit and they only went back 3 months. It was alillte cheaper so i switched to allstate, but u get what u pay for. After 3yrs my premiums never stayed the same went up every yr. So I switched 2 another agent and saved $ cause they kept raising my rates. Never had any claims on house or car. Would have paid more $ to switch but accually saved $. Now they r still ting 2 get $.it's OK I'll pay them when they give me my all my $ back from that truck.

Back in 2014 I was sitting in my car in a handicapped Kaiser Permanente parking lot in West Covina, CA. I was getting ready to leave when an elderly woman parked and hit the handicapped pole which landed on my car hood. The very elderly woman who hit my car denied it and said it was not her fault, she was vile & did not want to exchange insurance information so the security called the West Covina department because I asked and he came out and then we disclosed info. This vile woman admitted hitting the pole to the officer. In the end, Allstate did not fight for their customer, they were unable to get information from that officer who was the witness and I attempted and contacted officer and he never responded & that was very disheartening that he couldn't even provide a statement of what he witnessed, that was disgusting. The Kaiser parking lot had a camera in the location where this incident happened & they wouldn't release the video, it was really injustice on my part and for Allstate not to step up & fight for their customer is unexceptable!! The vile woman's insurance sure fought for her & acted like it was my fault, which was ridiculous, which was Farmer's insurance which I will be switching to as soon as I'm able to. The vile 90+ year old narcissistic woman won & Allstate didn't care. I think the fact that this woman threatened the police officer that her daughter was an attorney scared him & probably Allstate as well. The fact the West Covina PD & Kaiser did absolutely nothing sickens me that nobody cared this vile woman got away with it. At the very least Allstate needed to advocate as much as they could, but it never happened.
To not be backed up by any of the entities says a lot about these companies & departments.

I purchased home insurance from Allstate and in the beginning I was happy with the premium. After two months of contract, an email was sent to me from Allstate that I HAVE to switch the auto insurance to Allstate in order to keep the home insurance effective, a fact that wasn't informed in the very beginning before getting the quote for home insurance. And few days later after a refund was reimbursed to my credit card without even informing me, and my home insurance policy was cancelled. And when I contacted Allstate and asked about the reason of cancelation, I was informed that the reason was not switching the auto insurance to Allstate. And when I asked Allstate for auto insurance quote, they did not respond to me anymore. I'm very shocked and dissapointed from Allstate because of their ridiculous action, not being truthful and very bad costumer service, that I've never seen in my entire life. They caused me a lot of headache and stress. I never never ever recommend this insurance to anyone. There are a lot of better insurance companies out there which offer better premiums and deductibles.

Allstate has been awesome! covered my kids' auto accidents (4 total in 5 years), unlocked cars numerous times for them, easy for our mechanic to receive payment, available 24/7, just love them. prices have increased, granted mostly due to the accidents, however even our homeowners went up $400 in one year, no claims either...Great coverage and reliable but just getting too pricey for us....Sad.

Local agent I talked to was very friendly and nice. I thought I was in great hands. But now I have filled a homeowners after a majority robbery. They stole everything from sectional to electronics, jewelry and so much more. 1800 number handles all claims not the friendly local agent. I am guessing their job is to pay out the bare minimum as possible. Requesting proof I owned the stuff, the boxes my electronic came in and manuals were also stolen from my basement . They make me feel like I am scamming them when they are the ones scamming me. I can't wait for my claim to end and hopefully I will get something out of it. Don't use Allstate!!!!

I've been with this Allstate Agent now for 2 years. In that two years, my policy jumped up by $15.00/month. I've always paid my car insurance on the 25th - the day it was due. I NEVER had a problem - until today. I logged onto the Allstate App and loe and behold, my insurance jumped from $145/month to $164/month!! It was a late charge!! I have NEVER been charged a late fee!! And the payment is due today!! I was infuriated when I saw this. I immediately called my Allstate Agent, left a message for them to return my call - they never did. I then proceeded to get quotes from other insurance companies. Geico came in at $92/month!! And with far better coverage than Allstate! Also, both comprehensive and collision deductables are $100 with Geico. With Allstate, it was $500! And I'm now paying way less. I understand when I first signed on with Allstate my credit score wasn't great (thanks to an ex husband). But since then, my credit score is now in the mid 700's. There was NO reason for my car insurance to be so effing expensive. Whatever you do, do NOT use this Allstate Agent!! She sucks big time, and so does her husband, Rudy. I tried getting renters insurance with them last year, after Rudy told me it wouldn't be a problem. When I cancelled my current renters insurance and called Allstate to sign on with them, Rudy told me I was not eligible for the insurance, for whatever reason. I was so mad at his inconsistency, that I lost my current homeowners policy and had to sign up with another company. Such aholes. If you are going to go with Allstate, I highly recommend anyone else but this office. Allstate is a great insurance company. But these agents are horrible.

I decided to go with Allstate in January 2015 after I purchased my second vehicle because my previous insurance company was going to charge me through the roof for coverage on both vehicles. When I was originally quoted from Allstate, my payments were $580/6 months for both cars so I thought WOW! That's fantastic, I'll go with Allstate. Renewal comes around in July 2015, my premium has suddenly raised to $638. The rate was still reasonable but out of curiosity, I called the local office and asked why my premium went up, she stated "Oh because there was a rate increase. We haven't had a rate increase in 4 years...." I thought okay, I understand. 6 months come around again, it is now January 2016 and my premium is now $726!!!!!!!!!! WHAT THE HECK!!! So, I call the local office again, the guy states "Oh it's nothing you did, we just had another rate increase." So within one year my premium has gone up $146!!!!! AND I DIDN'T EVEN HAVE ANY ACCIDENTS OR TICKETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Horrible, horrible premiums and excuses. They act like they are helping you with all their "discounts". HA! I'm cancelling my policy today. :)

This company is by far the worst insurance company I have ever dealt with. I have had 2 of their insureds hit my vehicle while talking on cell phones and not paying attention to the brake lights, car, and intersections in front of them. Even though the police report stated their insured was at fault and they took fault for the accident, this company will not pay for necessary repair to my vehicle. Twice.
You have one job...when your insured is at fault you fix the other car that your insured hit. I even had a claims adjuster tell me that maybe someone hit my car when I wasn't around and didn't really leave any damage, but magically that is where the damage to the section of the vehicle that their insured hit me. This company just takes peoples monthly payments and the negates their sole responsibility. They should be shut down for all the money and repairs they have robbed people of.

I am a retired peace officer and their questions were interrigating and offensive .I felt that I needed an Attorney. So even though they said they were there for me,Do not believe them.I now have two Dash Cams in my new dodge vehicle for my protection. Still looking for a class action lawsuit against Ford...

After over 15 years with Allstate my wife passed away late in October who happened to manage our finances. On any account after this it took me a few weeks to get on top of the bills one of which was Allstate for our Auto Insurance. I noticed that the payment was past due so I called Allstate to sort things out, the agent had me pay $204 for the November Payment which was past due it was now November the 16th. OK, So a few week later I drive 4 hours away from home to pick up a new truck, part of the transactions was to transfer my insurance over to the new vehicle, when Allstate was called I was told that my policy had been cancelled in November because of non payment of the October bill, I explained my circumstances to the agent on the phone who basically said there was nothing he could do because the October Bill wasn't paid, So I said I can make payment for whatever was past due, his response was that he could not help me because of a history of missed payments, now we'd never missed a payment in 15 years till the one the was apparently due right when my wife passed away so how we have a history of missed payment baffles me and now I was stranded 4 hours away from home with no insurance.
I still have not received any kind of notice of cancellation, in the mail or via email.
Gee Thanks Allstate, I wasn't really in good hands.

Filed claim nov 8. Turned in all required info for claim in timely manner. Nov. 23 I still am dealing with this unorganized company. Agents never return calls and never answer their phones . When you call they keep transferring you to different agents who all do the same. "I will call you back , or here is my number " which they never call back and when you call be prepared to talk to a voicemail. Worst service I have ever recieved from an insurance company. Oh I will NEVER refer any business owners, friends , family, nor animals to all state. As soon as I get them to handle their job I will be canceling the remainder of my piolicy and going to a company who cares about the customers. The only reason I put any stars is because you all didn't give me that option. But i say 0 stars.

I was in an accident with an Allstate insured driver about 3 yrs ago, The driver backed in to my car. Admitted fault and the insurance company Allstate accepted Liability, OK great right (NOT) @ days after they accepted Liability they said too bad so sad we decline liability and are not going to fix your car. A week ago an Allstate Insured changed lanes and side swiped my truck He admitted fault and offered to pay out of pocket I said OK then he did not follow through with his promise so I filed a claim with Allstate they contacted there insured he said that he did change lanes and hit me and again they accepted fault then two days later they changed there mind again. I believe they are treating me this way because of previous experience's with them. IF YOU NEED INSURANCE ALLSTATE IS NOT THE WAY TO GO. Filed a claim to replace property that was lost on a trip. Property is covered in full under rider within Homeowners coverage. Was made to feel like I was running a scam on Allstate. At this point have not received payment or a single document in response to dozens of inquiries. But I did receive a renewal request! Everyone who I talk to, including my Agent has gone underground, I have filed a BBB complaint and Im considering legal representation. I cannot in good faith recommend their service or product to anyone.

Please get all information regarding billing when you initially sign up. I signed up for insurance and signed up for auto/easy pay. I had been in the easy pay program for just over 2 year when I got out of it and wanted to make my payment on my own as I sometimes pay my bills early when I have the opportunity. When I got out of the program, I called the customer service desk and was not told about the increase that would occur. My bill for October went up to $339 from $113, so I was quite shocked. I call Allstate and got 4-5 different answers as to why it went up. The last conversation I was told it was because I was billed in the rears because this is how it is for auto pay. In addition, I had to pay the first and last months billing. So, now I am ahead by 3-4 months which really does not may since. They want me to pay $339, but my total bill is $439. I explained that I only had 1income and asked if I was placed back on easy pay was there a way to spread the payments out. I was told no. I do not believe in that as people are able to manipulate their systems to correct issues. I should have been given the chance since I was not told it would go up. Had I known I, I would not have gotten out of it. I am all about saving money. I am beyond frustrated. I would cancel my policy, however, they are the cheapest for the coverage I have. I cannot skimp out on insurance because CA drivers are reckless and I would hate to have an accident and not have coverage. If you can afford to go somewhere else, go. If not, please get all of the hidden details upfront and ask lots of what if questions. Good Luck

They sent my husband an extremely personal card (how much they "care" about him (underlined four times) "a lot" (underlined four times) in the mail and when I told them it was inappropriate and asked them not to contact my husband in the future, Amy told me that she will continue to contact my husband unless he called her personally to tell her not to. Auto/homeowner-catastrophic claims..AWESOME. The rates are a tad higher that I would like however again the claim dept makes up for that. Allstate will pay for the front of my roof repairs. Won't even come close to the cost to pay contractor. I was given $2000. Plus I have a 500 dollar deductible. My back roof I was told if I got a brittle test and if failed they would replace it. It failed the brittle test! After going back and forth since March they finally send an Allstate adjustor out to look at the back. I was told my roof needs to be replaced but it was NOT CAUSED by wind. It was because my roof was old. No proof wind did it. I have 2 witnesses that saw the roof go up and down during the storm and the wind is what caused the other damage. I have been with Allstate for 18 years, I will be changing to another company once I pay out of pocket to have my whole roof paid. ANYONE IF YOU HAVE ALLSTATE FIND ANOTHER COMPANY, THEY LIE AND DONT WANT TO PAY OUT! Other houses lost some of their roof and replaced the whole roof. Of course they didn't have Allstate. I also felt the adjustor thought I was stupid because I was women, he acted like I didn't understand what BS he was telling me.

Allstate has been great. I switched from GEICO knowing I'd be offered more coverage options, rewards for being a good driver, etc. And all for the same price I was currently paying. Now, while this was not a savings financially, it was definitely a lot more piece of mind knowing I had been given deductible rewards, Multiple accident forgiveness, and more. They do an Insurance based Credit Score, so if you have bad credit... this might not be the place for you. Continuous insurance is also a major factor. It's not that Allstate has bad premiums, it's designed to get those who "have their life together" more preferred ratings versus others. This is obviously my opinion but after realizing how it works and knowing what some of my friends were quoted... it sure seems to be that way.

Allstate is excellent for auto insurance but is abysmal for homeowners insurance.
We had severe weather in our neighborhood. 8 out of 8 homes needed roof replacement. The same contractor and roofer built and roofed all the houses using the same construction techniques and roofing materials. 6 of 8 had roofs replaced by insurance company (none Allstate). 1 of 8 received 50% coverage and my house (insured by Allstate) received 0% coverage in spite of having claim free auto and home insurance with Allstate for 50 plus years. They claim that the original construction was faulty and the roof wasn't installed properly. However, both the general contractor and roofer dispute Allstate's claims. I have talked to 4 different roofers in our area and they all say that Allstate is the absolute worst homeowner's insurance regarding roof repair. clearly, Allstate is more than happy to take premiums for 50+ years but refuse to pay out the first claim I ever had with them. And... like I said, all of the homes surrounding me had their roof's replaced. The difference - Allstate.

I do not have All-State insurance, but was hit by someone insured by them. They told us our claim was approved and where to take my car to be fixed. After it was fixed, they said they would not pay it. Then they turned around and told the company that fixed it that they would pay it. Three weeks later the company that fixed our car, called and said All-State was suing us for the claim. They have not called us and told us. This is the worst company I have ever encountered. Do not buy insurance from them!!! Now I will have to pay the bill or hire a lawyer. I cannot believe this treatment. I will be turning them into my state insurance commission.

I had to rate stars but they are a ZERO. A pipe burst in the wall behind the counter in kitchen causing damage and cabinets had to be taken out. Apparently the leak had been leaking slow for some time in the wall but did not run out in the floor until the crack enlarged causing water to run out in floor. When we discovered this I cut into the wall and the smell was awful. I called Allstate and they told me to get a plumber to look at it. He did and said the drain line had burst. I reported to the claims department and they said that this was routine maintenance and they would not pay. So my question is how do you catch a leak in the wall without removing dry wall and counter? I talked with several other insurance companies and they said this did not make sense they would have to pay. Before you buy Allstate check with someone who has insurance with them and has filed a claimed because when you have been with a company 29 years and this happens its sad. I have another insurance company now. Allstate is a horrible company.

Inssurance agent said make a police report and we will be covered , police came out and made report , and allstate sent an adujuster out to home and adjuster said no we don't cover that , you let him drive your car , so its under cover as our fault. our home insurance after Harvey needs a roof and we have been on this for months , they flew a drone over , they had several adjusters come out , they don't want to admit we need the roof under the storm and keep prolonging it by sending adjuster after adjuster and wasting our time and roofing companies time. tried calling the top dogs at main office and they say we are in good hands with Allsatae , and sends out another adjuster. Allstate adjusters say we only need ONE SHINGLE and that's all they will pay for. After months of over 40 photos sent in by roofing company , letter from roofing company and meeting with all Allstates adjusters that come out , months and months of being put off. We did just get a letter in mail saying THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR YEARS AS AN ALLSTATE CUSTOMER , we appreciate your business.

We got broken into our apartment and lost our electronics and some cash and jewelry. When we opened the claim, we were told that our laptops were old and had high depreciation. So for 10K worth of gadgets and they gave us 2.5K with two laptops valued at 120$. Then they told us that if we replaced the laptops within a year, we would be paid the depreciated values. We replaced our laptops and sent them the receipts and they had us hanging on for a month. When we called to inquire, they told us they wouldn't be able to pay us *anything*. And cited arbitrary reasons each time we called. After hours of negotiations and arguing, they finally paid us some amount of the replacement costs. They didn't give us a breakdown of any sort to tally, paid us through our registered account and declined to even walk us over their wrong breakdowns. Absolutely terrible customer care and they handle claims very shadily. I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy.

On 2/19/18 I found a water spot in one of our bedrooms, our attic sheeting was moist and mold had started to develop (the disaster restoration co estimated it to be a few weeks old) which would have started around 2/8 when we had 10 inches of snow.When I called Lucia's office 2/20 and talked to Marcie she was very misleading stating if we decided to make the claim we have very strong extra coverage on the policy.After meeting with our disaster co, I called back the office and spoke to Marcie,she again told me she believed it would be covered and we filed the claim; never even speaking to our ACTUAL agent Lucia. The next step would be in 24 hours the adjuster would address the claim but she would "put a rush on it" to hurry the adjuster out. My husband and I last minute adjusted our work schedules to make sure we had the next day off work to be there for the adjuster. What was not communicated to us was the fact that the adjuster actually had 24 hours to CONTACT us, not actually come to our home.The adjuster comes to our home, denies our claim.I call our agent, Lucia, requesting to know our premiums as I will be investigating other coverage options in the future with a more supportive company. She states, "So you are going to just drop us because your claim was denied". I tell her no, I need more reliable coverage for our family. She proceeds to tell us that "No one would have covered that, and do you think anyone is going to cover you now with mold in your attic?" I stated to her that my desire was not to seek another company to cover until our problem is resolved. I explained to her that NOT every insurance company would have denied that claim as our disaster company even attested to this in his professional opinion. Lucia then called our disaster company and verbally threatened to slander his company name for providing his professional opinion to us

Be advised that the reward you receive for continued insured service from 1973 till today from Allstate is going back on their word, attempts to find ways to weasel out of providing coverage you pay for, and harassing their customers with incessant calls about what they won't cover that you paid for. A recent tragedy occurred when a relative of mines in her 80s who cares for her sick husband and watches her great grandchild occurred when a fire broke loose in her a/c unit. Praise God she was having it serviced when this occurred which truly prevented this devastating event from becoming a fatality. Her apparent only mistake was believing she was in good hands with Allstate. Her adjuster Holly stated initially they would cover the cost of replacing the unit, then the next day stated it wasn't covered with various different reasons given, none of which made sense, and no report given until weeks after the claim was reported. An obvious excuse given to get out of covering a service that their customer has been paying for. If this wasn't insult enough the insured customer had housing coverage for a year. Well, they legally have housed their two grandchildren who are in college and again as the only caregiver for her husband she elected to stay next door with her son which required the use of 3 bedrooms, and rather then pay for her stay there which accommodated way more services then a hotel 5 miles away. They were willing to pay $119 per night per room at a hotel in Ruston, but only wanted to pay $50 a night for the use of one room to stay closer to the resident which made it actually more convenient for them. Beware if you are in your golden years and face a problem in your domicile that with Allstate you may find yourself re-entering the war zone. This done despite the fact that she has two sons who have been faithful customers of Allstate, needless to say that is being rethought. At best you're in questionable hands with Allstate

We purchased our home and used Allstate for both our home and auto insurance. Fortunately the house insurance is taken care of through escrow.
But this is the second time that we have been emailed that we are behind in the monthly payment. Today is the 6th, the payment was due on the 1st. The problem is that the payment was supposed to come out through the easy pay that the owner/agent supposedly set up for us (AGAIN), but didn't. Yep that's right we went through this once before, we originally thought that the easy pay had been set up, only to find out that 2 payments were missed (husband was in the hospital I paid no attention to his emails) because the owner/agent never set it up. So this is twice he's failed us. Who do you blame, there's no one over him. Of course he's out of the office right now, so we can't even get an explanation. After reading the reviews on this site I am concerned about what kind of service we would receive if we ever needed to file an actual claim for either policy. It kind of makes you wonder about all those commercials where the guys walks through the museum and shows something like the hood of a car with paint all over it and then tells a story about how it happened, and says they covered it. Those must be stories where lawyers got involved and they just leave that part out.

Filed a water damage claim with Allstate and had a horrible experience dealing with the adjuster. She mislead us and mishandled the claim from the first moment we spoke to her. Jeanne Joseph tried to close the claim by issuing an absurdly low amount that wouldn't even cover the material cost, much less the labor. It took speaking to her supervisor to even get someone out to look at the damage and write up an estimate. Jeanne's supervisor and the guy that assessed the damage (a contractor for allstate) both agreed that she handled the claim poorly and that the damage required a much higher claim amount. Jeanne issued a check for an amount much closer to the estimate and claimed that a check for the remainder of the amount would be issued upon completion of the work. Once the work was completer we submitted the bills for all work in order to receive the final amount and close the claim. Jeanne Joseph replied that we would not receive the final amount due to a detail that she never explained to us, once again withholding information from us. I would not recommend Allstate home insurance. I only hope that all of their adjusters are not that incompetent and deceiving.

I have been with Allstate Insurance since 1986. I have always had good service from them. For the last 20 or so years, I have had 6 cars, a utility trailer, 2 motorcycles, and 2 homes insured with Allstate. Of course they always made sure we were aware of all the perks and discounts that we were receiving by having so many vehicles and our home owners combined. There was never a reason to look outside of Allstate for insurance. I just figured with multiple policies, discounts, etc., that Allstate was the company for me. Boy was I wrong. I just looked into switching to Travelers insurance and I saved almost $3000/year just for the vehicles. That is unbelievable. I figured that I could save a few hundred dollars but $3000? No wonder Allstate provided us with such good service - THEY WERE RIPPING US OFF FOR OVER 20 YEARS. It really does not pay to be a loyal consumer these days. I would not recommend Allstate to anybody. Shame on you Allstate. Let the consumer beware.

My 2011 GMC Acadia actually caught on Fire Nov. 1. We then filed a claim. An agent went to look at it at the tow yard. They then said it would be repaired, fire damaged car repaired with only $900 damage!!! Then the people at the repair shop got in touch with and said there was a substantial amount of damage well over $900!!! Well we got our rental car and waited for the next step. Another inspector called and said they had to go look at it for additional damage. Well some more waiting! Three weeks go by....nothing!! I call my agent and he has no idea what the wait is. So I call and I call and I call, it seems nobody knows what the holdup is. Finally they’re waiting on another adjuster to go look at it. By now it’s over a month and I’m now paying for the rental car myself......$254/wk!!!!!! I call my agent again, he says he can’t even get in touch with the agent in charge of the situation, that he won’t call him back!! So I call the repair shop and they say that Allstate has told them to wait. So now I’m back in touch with my agent who says they were investigation potential fraud!! Get that, fraud!! I guess my wife and my 9 year old, type 1 diabetic son stopped the car, set it on fire from underneath right in front of people, right there on the side of the highway!!! They couldn’t figure out why there was dirt and grass on the bottom of the car. Well, I guess when she pulled over on the side of the freakin highway with car in flames she ran over the g%dd*mn grass!!!!! So they finally okay it to be repaired, this is 2 months after the fire!! Well now the repair shop still has the car awaiting parts because they just got the ok they say!! It’s been almost 3 months since the initial claim and I’m spending $1000.00 a month on a rental but also still paying their premiums!!!!! Oh, not to mention the f*ck#ing deductible that I have to pay!!!! Well I still don’t have my car!!

We filed a claim with Alstate on a wreck that was not my parents fault, so the police office and report shows. At the time we had no ideal who the insurance company was, so we got it to a local body shop a few miles away. When we finally find out the next week who the insurance was, the hassle started. From not paying but 80%, to not paying Body shop fees for inspecting the car and storage. They flat told me they could pay how they wanted we had no choice but to accept it. They are very very hard to deal with, I would recommend never using them for insurance. I ask the agent who made him judge and jury over how he was paying, he told me that was his job to do. one agent told us one price, another one that called us told us something different, then the last case work said they were wrong they was not paying the claim.
Be very careful with these guys, they will take whatever they want out of the claim and then not want to pay the body shop for their time. Body shop guy told me that Alstate was the only company he had the problems with on paying.

I filed an accident claim for a ruptured back disc. I sent all the required paperwork. They send back 5 request for various paperwork that I already sent. They seem to not talk to each other. I finally spoke to an manager who started off by saying " you supposedly hurt your back" . I had surgery on my back and they had all the required paperwork. They assume you aye lying. We had an auto accident out of state about two months ago. Initially, it took Allstate 2 days for an adjuster go out and inspect the car. The car then went to the dealership and a supplement was submitted to allstate and it took a week for the adjuster to gout out and inspect the car and three days for the Supervisor to approve the additional cost for repairs. When the car went back to the collision center, another supplement was submitted and it took an Allstate adjuster a week and a half to go and reinspect the car and the new charges are yet to be approved after two weeks of submission. Also, their customer service is poor. They are rude and avoid taking phone calls. I will not recommend this company to anyone. There are better auto insurance companies.

Been with Allstate for 18 years (home owners). They took my money monthly no problem. Never had to file a claim. Then I filed a claim on my roof due to straight line winds and hail. Also blew my fence and a tree over. Adjuster said there wasn't enough damage. I had a stack of 50+ shingles I gathered from my yard. My neighbor had 20-30 more in their yard. Large areas of shingles are lifted and loose. Metal flashings and chimney Cap look like they were beat on with a ball hammer! Hired a public adjuster to help me. 3 months later after P.A. filed for nearly $30k Allstate is still fighting saying there's only around $3k in damage, including the fence! Now we have to go to litigation with them. My brother is having the same problem with his home damage. A friend of mine, same thing. I will NEVER use or recommend them ever again. RUN AWAY NOW! DO NOT USE ALLSTATE!! Sure the rates are good. But they won't cover any damage. You're basically just giving them money and getting nothing in return.

I feel like I have been ripped off for over 17 years. I blame myself for not being proactive and searching for better rates considering that my premium continued to rise every 6 months even though I have a perfect driving record, no accidents and other than having my windshield replaced I have NEVER filed a claim.

I am saving over $1,500 a year!!!

My car was damaged in a recent wind storm. The agent going the inspection called me a liar. After 22 years with the company and only my second claim filed, to be treated so poorly is unbelievable! Now as the claim is in process, I get charged fees from the rental agency rather than the insurance company. I spend a lot of time on the phone to get things taken care of and yet these guys can't seem to do their job and take care of it. I cannot believe how incompetent these people are.

Allstate is great, if you never have to file a claim. The process has been the worst experience ever. We paid more to have higher limits, 300k as opposed to 100k, but Allstate is still trying to negotiate this settlement and have opened us up to having to now possibly go to court. When one of Allstates insured rear ended me while I was waiting for a school bus, I thought my settlement would be fast, seeing it was an open & shut case against their insured. I had to fight to get a rental car (my car was totalled), had to wait to get their final damage assessment, and then had to wait for the settlement. This took about 2 months and was only for property damage. I had to hire a lawyer to get my medical claim settled. The kid that hit me impacted my car so hard, the drivers' seat had broken was laying on the interior floor. I had some neck issues for quite some time and a lot of pain. The medical claim took about 2 years. I'm very disappointed with Allstate and would recommend you not get insured with them.

A year ago, we hired an attorney to send a demand letter to Allstate for pain and suffering from an auto accident they have already accepted full liability for by settling the auto damage claim. However, they keep switching adjusters. We are still waiting for a settlement offer. Our attorney has to call them several times each week and keeps getting the run around. I purchased a "brand new" Subaru and called my agent to add all of the "extra"insurance a new car would need, just in case it was in an accident. Well, unfortunately the car was rear ended while I was sitting there waiting for a light. Yep it was hit at about 45 miles an hour approximately 7 weeks after it was born out of its nice new car wrap. Not only did my car get injured, so did I! My PIP kicked in for injury, but Allstate didn't pay the bills as they were supposed to and I had to call to find out what was going on several times, which ended up me paying out of pocket twice or my bills were going to go to collection. The injured car has been a complete nightmare, as three shops had my car and couldn't figure out what the problem was so Allstate said I was stuck with the car until I paid to find out what was wrong with it and then "they may reimburse me". The main shop dealing with my car said it wasn't safe, so they even sent it on a flatbed to the last shop they had it evaluated at. The notes indicate that they know the car isn't right, but "unable to find out what was making the clunking noise" HMMM! I thought that's why I had the extra coverage, if the car isn't fixed then I shouldn't have to accept it. When the last shop said they would look into it further, Rashad from Allstate said they wouldn't pay for it. I finally got assistance from an outside party and recently took it back in since it drives to the right and hits bumps so hard I think its going to fall apart...yep new car! So now I have been informed that I shouldn't have been driving my Subaru all this time as it is "totaled" and unsafe to drive! Nice work Allstate at keeping your clients safe! So now Allstate isn't returning any calls or emails to address the claim. I have never knew that an insurance company had an option not to return a call related to an open claim. It has now been about 10 days and no return calls or emails!

I have been dealing with Allstate on a claim for over a month with no resolution currently in site. The vehicles being used in their valuation they are submitting me have been missing vins, and the listings are never current. I have no way of verifying the conditions of the supposedly "comparable" vehicles to my own. Their first attempt was rating my car 65% it's black book value, and I have only gotten them up just barely, still shy at 80% black book. Black book is the MOST trusted source, and almost all Financial institutions and dealerships use this to determine vehicle values. My car was in TERRIFIC shape, mechanically and aesthetically, with the only real issue being worn clear coat on the paint. I'm refusing their price and have chosen to take to the web instead of "hiring an independant party" to appraise my car, which is what Allstate suggests I do. I shouldn't have to go through this much trouble! This is terrible service.

We were tired of rising rates with our last insurance company. No claims in 20+ years, yet yearly increases. Changed to Allstate since it has a local office. It's turning into a nitemare. They came, looked at our house, were happy. THEY gladly took our money. "NOW" they want things fixed/replaced because of the age of our house (200+ years old). We get a call from the agent about something, when we try to contact him, it takes a couple of days for him to respond. AND when he does, he can't answer our questions about what was found wrong. Only that the corporate office isn't happy! Like, what the hell is this? I paid for 1 year, and after reading the consumer complaints against Allstate, we are looking for another insurance company. I only hope that we don't have to file a claim in this year, because it will be through my lawyer.

I called several companies and was told by the Allstate agent I could receive rental insurance AND FULL COVERAGE on my car for under $100 a month.... seemed fishy, so I repeated my need 3 times ==THREE TIMES!!!== each time he assured me that my rental and car insurance, with FULL COVERAGE, combined cost w0uld be under $100. I was still pretty leery...seemed way too low to me, so a few months later called my agent with a "claim"(I made that up to see what would be said)--he tried his best to convince me that I had 'misunderstood', until my Mother got on the line and told him she had heard the entire conversation and I told him THREE TIMES "FULL COVERAGE", and conveniently informed him my cousin is an attorney... he changed his tune drastically at that point, but my premium skyrocketed. I pay more in premiums than they would pay for a surgery after I broke my foot. Never offered to help with forms , sent me the forms and told me to take care of everything. Had to have forms filled out by five different places (each charging me $25.00 to fill the form out). When it was all said and done the surgery will cost over 100,000.00 and the most they said I would receive would be around 700.00 minus each 25.00 fee! I have paid a lot more than that in premiums over the past three years

We have been dealing with Allstate for a storm damage related claim to our home and yard. It has been an extremely frustrating and time consuming process to move this relatively small claim along. Note that we had given them estimates from contractors that we know and trust -- and that are NOT padding their bill. Goodness knows how this would be if our home had serious damage! It was surprising to notice how the adjustors (we had 2!) demonstrated poor knowledge of construction materials and real costs and limited capability of explaining their calculations. One cannot help but wonder what the financial incentives are to the employees of Allstate in denying coverage.

My region experienced a storm with high wind speeds. This resulted in damage to sections of my roof. Insurance adjuster came out and reported that their records show that the roof was 38 years old, past the life of the roof, however his expert opinion was that the roof was about 10-15 years old. That this discrepancy was going to be a problem.
This is a house I only purchased a year and a half ago. When I got my insurance, we did a phone interview to receive an insurance estimate. During the phone interview we stated that the previous homeowners reported that the roof was replaced 12 years ago. When we purchased the house, the inspector noted that the roof's age was in agreement with the replacement date provided by the previous homeowners. This information was provided to Allstate's Underwriters. Since this and other discrepancies didn't amount to more than a 5% overall change in the value of my house, they didn't bother to update their records on the house. They also didn't inform my insurance agent of these differences, so they didn't update the records.
They required that I provide proof of when the roof was replaced in one of the following ways.
- Invoice : didn't have because I didn't own the home at that time
- Statement from previous owner : They do not return my calls
- Statement from neighbors : None of my immediate neighbors lived in the neighborhood that long ago.
- Building Permit from the City from that time (Surprise surprise, the previous owner didn't do the work with a permit!)
All we had was the realty listing. After a few days, they finally accepted that and then took a week and a half to update their system! It has been a month, and I haven't received details as to what or how much is going to be covered.
Since the initial claim, ANOTHER wind storm blew through yesterday and caused MORE damage! Now I'm faced with possibly a SECOND claim??

We switched to Allstate because of lower rates offered. At that time, we told them that our roof had about 5 years remaining and we would be replacing it in 6 months anyway and we needed to eventually repair a deck. We were assured it was no problem. An inspector was sent out who also called out mossy walkways (easy fix) and a shed roof needing cleaning. We were told that as long as we replaced our roof within a year and treated the shed roof we would be good to go though we would need to eventually need to repair the deck. We replaced the roof ($38,500) and treated the shed roof for moss. Allstate cancelled, sent us over to another insurance company for less coverage which is 40% higher in cost. We’ll probably replace the deck and install railings soon however with all the Allstate hassle we’ll go back to our previous insurer Farmers. We are totally annoyed with the bait and switch tactics employed to garner new business and the bad advice from Allstate. There is no excuse for doing business this way.

Dealing with the Brandon Walters agency in Irving, TX has been a nightmare. On the death of my wife's brother we tried to cancel the policy that was being paid auto withdraw from his bank. We were told at the time of death that it was canceled but it was not. After months of work we were told that we would get a refund. Nothing has happened except the way the policy was to be paid. They will not respond to our calls and have lied about the refund. Trying to deal with Allstate main office has been useless. They refuse to speak to us claiming company policy when we have furnished all the necessary papers to the agents office. Upper management hides itself and you cannot talk to anyone in "real" authority.

I feel like all insurance companies are scam artists. At least Allstate does the claim satisfaction guarantee. My claim was a mess partly due to the mechanic I used to fix my car but a few minor customer service issues from Allstate. I wrote a letter to claims satisfaction and got 6 months worth of Auto free for my trouble.

total premium increased with no valid reason, mostly like others are complaining about, allstate fault yet they refuse to give me a manager saying managers dont go on the phone,refusing to give me my money back and did not provide proof of the increase in the premium,approving that it is allstate fault but refusing to return the money, never seen that behavior before, possibly they got mad because i was able to get a lower premium from another company.extremely bad customer service , they dont know what they are talking about nor what they're doing and they dont know how their systems work

I am just baffled as to how a company this large can get away with the things that they do. I was in a car accident on Oct 13 and my car was totaled. It is 5 weeks later and I still do not have a check to replace my car, and even though I am paying for the service, Allstate will not pay for a rental car. I had to receive and am still receiving medical treatment due to the accident. Never have I been contacted by anyone to help me out with that. I have submitted several bills/receipts and have never been reimbursed. I have left dozens and dozens of messages with various people including my Allstate agent. I have never had a call back about one thing. I have thousands of dollars of medical bills to pay that should be paid for via Allstate and I have been carless for over a month. I am horrified and disgusted. I have tried to reach out to anyone to get any information. DO NOT GO WITH ALLSTATE.

I was an Allstate customer for over 25 years. My wife who passed away 2 years ago had two minor accidents. My policy has been getting more expensive over the years. I contacted my agents office concerned over the increases and the possibility of comparing rates with other companies. I was told that my policy would be reviewed and I would be called back in approximately 30 minutes. That was 4 days ago. Over 25 years of never a late payment! I am now with USAA.

The agent the company had the car information sent to was Kathleen Biolack. The insurance company took 150.00 out of my checking account on July 10th. I had a car accident on July 10th. Kathleen said there was no insurance that day eventhough I paid for the insurance. Kathleen would not return the funds I paid for unless I showed her prove of insurance on the 9th. If the car accident happened on the 10th, money was taking out of my account the 10th, and Kathleen said the insurance was not valid that day. She should refund me the 150.00 dollars. Why would I pay for car insurance if allstate was not going to accept the claim, and the car was wrecked that day. Kathleen did nothing to help me talk to the claims department, and she called me a scam artist eventhough she denies it. Kathleen says she does not know what was said between us that day. Do not use allstate or Kathleen Biolack for insurance.

Luckily, Allstate would no longer insure our property that had been insured for 15+ years after a request for a change in coverage. After speaking with several incompetent agents, we got the run around and were advised to go elsewhere. Apparently, Allstate just bumps off customers after they have been over-insuring and overcharging them for years if they have to do anything with your policy other than to apply your premium payment. We now have more coverage that is appropriate for our situation at a lower cost. Don't want to add up how much money we wasted with Allstate in higher premiums, high deductibles and lower coverage. Costly lesson learned! Thanks Allstate for enabling us to find out that we were not "in good hands" and take our business elsewhere.

Citizens (by agent of Allstate) was the only insurance I was offered at the time I bought my home. Now they are encouraging me to move to a private insurer because Citizens is trying to lower its client base. The company referred to is not able to tell me how much the premium(s) will be. I would like to find out if there are other options and if I can get an approximate premium figure.

I really like Allstate although I have to lessen our insurance expenses so I am shopping around to see if I could save some money.
