Does not look in the best interest of client-does anything in order to raise rates-poor communication- - Very concealing in their actions
Good until your first claim, July, 2015
We had a claim from storm damage. After 12 years with this company and no prior claims, it should not have been a problem. They only paid about half of what the damage actually cost to get repaired. Couldn't understand the customer service agent and did not know what else to do. They said our rates would not go up because we had never submitted a claim, but a little over a year later, our policy skyrocketed. Of course they would not lower the rates. I am currently getting quotes and will not renew with Allied.

I hope I could give them negative star! I had 2 cars insured by them, my owned home and also a renter's insurance for home I had rented. I used to pay all premium at the beginning of my term so I don't have to pay monthly, and my balance was always positive.
My wife had a minor accident in the car parking and naturally she exchange the insurance information! however, we realized that Allied had canceled our policy one month back due to $200 being under balance that was due to adding and cancelling a car and home at the middle of the insurance year.
They had sent the notification to our former address (they had both old and new addresses in their file) I don't know why. and when we have not taking any action (how would we know!?) they cancelled entire policy. 2 cars and 1 house got cancelled all together! they have not even call us for notification! and we would not even know it until recent accident.
I called their 1800 number, the guy was not polite and told me we cannot do anything about it.
It is frustrating we pay this much of money to them and we wont receive any service.
They offered me to renew the contract but I never go back to them again. This time we were lucky there was no injuries involved. We were driving our car 1 month and we did not know that we have no insurance!
Do not go with this company at all
Abysmal Communication Rude Customer Treatment, July, 2015
Limb fell on our roof during heavy snow - Took weeks before anyone came to look and longer to remove - Removal subbed to 2 guys in a pickup who charged a lot and did not even haul away the huge limb - Adjuster from their "preferred" contractor said he was afraid of heights. Naturally the damage was assessed LESS than our deductible. Repairs done by another sub - patched even though roofer said the whole roof was damaged INcluding damages resulting from limb removal by the other sub. Agency in Ohio was rude and lacked basic knowledge of process and details - "supervisor" yelled at us over the phone when we complained that our email address had been give but never recorded several times. Rates have gone up annually on car and home. Policies were sold out-of-state a few years ago by local agency. Agency in Ohio, adjuster in Iowa, call center <= who knows? Response on claim required many calls and few call-backs. Allied may be "Nationwide" but NOT on your side.

The Allied Insurance Scandal, February, 2015
All communicable services were down at my restaurant and catering business during the busiest time of year. The 5 year old faulty wire was fixed at my location by a technician, in which Allied claimed it was at a substation. They proceeded to tell me that the wire fell under Wear and Tear that was excluded and my losses were not covered. I was declined a successful resolution for months. They lied to me, wasted my time, stole my money and damaged my reputation. â€œWe are on your side,â€ is an absolute astonishing deceit!

I started with Allied in Sept of 2012 and my combined premium for home and auto was just under $900 for 6 months. By March of 2015, the combined 6 month premium was just under $1100. I made no claims on either policy during this time. When I asked, I was never given a reason for the increase. I feel I was baited with a more affordable rate to begin with Allied and then once on board, I was hit with unjustifiable premium increases. Get your insurance elsewhere.

More expensive, terrible coverage lack of knowledge by agents, terrible processing of claim policies that are different than everyone elses which causes more confusion. More paperwork which in turn does not allow for quick fix and use of investment.

Since I left Allied, I had an old bill that they never paid. They absolutely are the WORST insurance company I have ever came across. They claim that they never received my bill from an urgent care. They claim that they have been trying to reach me for over a year. LOAD OF BS. I have never received any calls or ANY piece of mail from them. They are HORRIBLE and completely suck at customer service. SPECIFICALLY: ANNIE & DIANE from Claims Services. Do yourself a favor and just DO NOT get insurance with them.

Seems good when you purchase. Trouble are starting after first claim. But not easy to solve it. Waiting time over the phone with customer service - 45-55 min, no answers over support e-mail at all. Don't have anything positive to say.

I have had Allied for 3 years now and have had 2 major weather related claims and one auto claim. We had straight line wind and cost $28,000.00 in damages to our house, Allied was out within a week and gave us a check that day to start the repairs. 10 months later we had a major hail storm, gold ball sized hail. This time the claim was $19,800.00 on home, totaled my car @ $9,900.00 and $7,500.00 damage to my wife's SUV. They again gave us a check on the day that the adjuster was there except for on the totaled car.
Every time I have had a great experience with my local agent and with the Allied adjusters. I highly recommend them. And best of all our rates haven't went up!
I highly recommend Allied for all of your insurance needs!

Claim was handled very poorly and Company was very deceiving in what was going to be covered.
They are definitely not a Company you would want to be insured by.

Dropped without notification, July, 2016
I was with this company for close to 7 years. I used auto pay to pay my monthly bill on the 24th of each month. Well, I put money in my account late one month and I was unaware that my money wasn't drafted for payment. They dropped my service and reported $100 to collections with no notice! I had no idea I was driving without insurance... No calls, letters, emails. Oh and they dropped me after less than a month. This company had no employee loyalty.

Has this insurance for over a year the worst insurance . They don’t pay the bills I had to pay every bill didn’t pay any for any the whole year!! The insurance agent we had lied to us . Told us my dr appt was completely covered didn’t pay one cent. Called him on it he was very rude!!!

My policy said I only had a $30 copay with any doctor or specialist, but when I filed a 3 claims of specialist visits I made but they covered none. With the money I have been paying them every month, I could have used it to pay two of those visits in full. Don't waste your time or money, you'll only end up in debt with your doctor.

I had no insurance for 4 years, all other companies would either not take me or were over 300/mo!
Allied took me at 95/mo and has been great. Setting up recurring payments I don't worry about missing a payment, my local agents are very helpful whenever I have questions, and I will definitely stay with them as long as I can.

I was called a few minutes ago regarding health insurance quotes I asked for. The insurance agent that I was speaking to asked me how soon I want to get insurance to which I told her within the next 30 days. She told me her plans are for today only and hung up on me without saying anything else or even letting me respond to her! Today is within the next 30 days. I was really hoping to be able to get health insurance through this company but I will NEVER inquire with you all again and I will be sure to tell EVERYONE I know how horrible my experience was today! She made sure to tell me at the beginning of the call that it was being recorded for quality assurance so I truly hope you listen to her call from 10:42 am on 12/14/16 and teach her how to properly interact with potential customers! No telling how much business she has costed your company.

my car was stuck in the grass i called them and they gave me a number to contact. They hang up the phone 2 times then they didn't answer the phone. i waited 1 hour then i call allied again, the person told me to wait 2 more hours untill they send another person i told him thats too much, They hung up the phone. When the other person came he said no i can't go inside the grass and my car was still in the grass for 2 days and i had to get a person with my money to get my car unstuck.

I have had a lot of Trouble cancelling my car insurance after I bought a new car and the policy I was given had an outrageous price. I was given no way to save money on my insurance either like the safe driver discount. I have switched insurance companies and called to cancel with Allied insurance. I spoken with one of their representatives that told me it was cancelled and everything was ok. I get A bill in the mail stating my account was suspended from Allied insurance and a $10.00 fee was added I was like I cancelled it so no worries. I get another bill in the mail stating my policy was cancelled on Aug 29, 2016 when I called and cancelled Aug 4, 2016. On top of it all now I have to re contact them and explain to them that I should not owe them money. Overall I would not recommend Allied Insurance to anyone because this company is clearly unprofessional and is out to get your money.

I worked for a government entity which operated a K-9 unit, and I boarded the dog at home. The government agency agreed to sign docs to assume liability arising from K9 issues, but Allied cancelled my insurance anyway. Went with another major insurance company which had no concerns.

This insurance is a bit on the pricier side but when I totaled my car a couple years ago they took care of everything!! No hassle, or arguing they made a stressful process easy and seamless.
Allied was great but we only hadand one claim because,the hurricane messed up a lot last and we had a lot to fix and they didnt give enough money,reason we are leaving because they are closing down,in november.

My wife and I selected Allied for our home, auto, umbrella, and life insurance due to competitive rates. Sadly, after a short string of bad luck (one house and one car claim), Allied dropped us and failed to renew our policy. What kind of insurance company collects premiums all year, and then refuses to insure you in the future when you actually use the service they sell?

Although Allied is a little more costly then other insurance companies we have had nothing but good things when we were in an accident. My husband wasn't paying attention and hit someone on a Saturday night. By noon the next morning we were in a rental car. We had the rental for 15 days with no problems. The customer service we received exceeded our expectations. The lady I talked to was so nice we were laughing together on the phone. When we needed them, they were there to help every step of the way!

I am in search of Health Insurance when I seen an add on Facebook stating as low as $9.00 a month for health insurance I wanted to check it out! I am unemployed. When Monica asked me what payment am I looking at she hung up when I said $20 a month! When I'm employed it costs $25-$35 a month so I knew I shouldn't be that far off! It is just my opinion, that when a "so-called" professional hangs up on you when you are legitimately trying to get insurance the company is not legitimate and I am very leary and sceptical! Because of my experience I will never use this company and will share with all of my friends and family of my experience today! There are more companies out there that are way more friendly and will work with you insuring you the customer experience possible! I wouldn't waste your time with this company!

I chose this insurance policy when Anthem got rid of my plan. Allied covered nothing. Not one thing when my children had drs visits. After my coverage ended I kept getting bills for tacked on “coverage” that apparently was just a sneaky way to steal $175 from me for 2 months (even though my insurance was already cancelled) until I finally could make them stop. Worst may stake I could have made by going with this company, period.

I was with my son when he went to the pharmacy to pick up an epien jr. for his 6 year old who is severely allergic to ALL nuts. The tec called them for approval so they could fill the script and the person for the insurance co. questions such as...did you try benedryl or any other over the counter medicine first? WTH!!! Epipens are commonly prescribed for all kinds of things. They also refused to fill it because the pharmace did not carry generic (they said they had concerns about its effectiveness). Allied to the tec to "have the customer call around to find it in generic otherwise it would not be covered". WTF!! By the way, this took about an hour to get told no coverage. DONT BOTHER WITH THIS COMPANY. They are happy to collect the premiums but pay out NOTHING. Would give it 0 stars if I could.

I was with allied aka nation wide my rate on 1 car kept going up. I have 0 tickets and 0 accidents in 10 years. I was told by a nationwide agent the state rate was going up due to claims were high which was complete bullshit. I looked up insurance claims in Tx were low. Do these agents realize you can look that info up. My biggest is the piss poor customer" nationwide is on your side " thats complete bullshit. There should be 0 stars. The customer service for Allied is a joke. Be prepared to wait over an hour to even reach an agent, and if you ever do get through to an agent, prepare for an attitude and a general sense of "we don't give a crap about you". Quite possibly the worst company I've ever dealt with.

Allied/Nationwide has been horrible to deal with - tried to force me to use their repair shop, stalled on inspecting the vehicle, refused to cover uninsured driver incurred expenses (car rental & deductible) stalled on paying out on a totaled vehicle. Delay, delay, delay. That is their modus operandi. Harassing me non-stop about my physical condition. Thank God I have other options and the wherewithal to cover it for now.

I was called by them when I was shopping for health insurance quotes, the conversation started off well enough until I got some prices & then told the young man (Zach) that I still wanted to shop around. He got very snitty with me & his tone was unacceptable, told me that no matter where I called in my state the price he gave me was what other companies would give me. I told him I felt he was pressuring me & he then got very aggressive, lecturing me because I haven't had insurance in 8 years, I told him I didn't need to be lectured by him & he raised his voice & started telling me that today was the 'last' day to sign up. The price he gave me was very reasonable, but after the way he acted on the phone I hung up & will continue to shop around. I will also make sure I read company reviews prior to calling anyone for a quote.
