Submit a Claim and Get Nothing, March, 2017
We have insured our vacation trips with AIG for well over a decade. Never had to submit a claim before this one. Basically, we had rented a condo and purchased airline tickets. The airline cancelled our flight, after we had arrived at the airport, finally rescheduling us to such an extent that we would have missed two of the five days of our rental. So, we opted not to go. The airline (American) refunded our tickets but AIG didn't reimburse us for the condo. We initially submitted the claim on line, which was denied. We called and inquired why and were informed they needed more documentation, we supplied that documentation and they (AIG) said they would call back. We're still waiting and when we call now get absolutely nowhere. Not using them again!
They are not great at honoring a claim., September, 2016
I took out Travel Gaurd insurance through them. They did not provide me with the fine print. I was stuck in the coup in Turkey and had to be rerouted back to where I had begun my flight and had to purchase brand new tickets to get home. They denied the claim.
No customer service response, November, 2016
I had travel insurance that was supposed to pay for missed or interrupted flights, I filed a claim for six weeks ago and three emails later still no response from the representative. AIG is good at taking your money but poor in reimbursement. I would never use them again or recommend them to anyone.
Worthless, April, 2018
Save your money! Do not purchase travel insurance through this company, it is completely worthless. We had to cancel our granddaughter's trip through no fault of our own and our claim was denied. Losing the airfare was bad enough, but losing the additional insurance premium was a slap in the face!
Worst Insurance Company I ever dealt with, March, 2019
This is the worst insurance company I ever dealt with. The claim was outright denied. I got sick while I was travelling and the claim was closed and not just money on new flight not refunded, they outright refused to refund even the cost of the cancelled flight.
Purchased when buying airline tickets, October, 2018
This company is horrible. We were hit with hurricane Florence in September 2018. Our entire city had to evaluate therefor we couldn't get to the airport. Purchased this insurance since I have children incase they got sink. The disclaimer when purchasing made the process seem really easy if something happened.
This company and the employees must live under a rock. It was all over national TV but they had no knowledge. 8+ weeks out I am still fighting with them to get my money back. Next time I will take my chances. By the way by parents, aunt, uncle were going on the trip for the wedding. They didn't buy insurance NO PROBLEM the airline refunded their money in 48 hours.
I should have went this route but since I PAID for insurance I thought it should go through them. LESSON LEARNED THE HARD WAY!
Very poor customer service, May, 2018
Policyholder since 1994, no claims. In 2 wks will mark the 24th anniversary signing on with the Franklin Company, kna, AIG.
Since 2010 I've been trying to speak to my agent. Long story made short, through my countless efforts I finally located him at his 'personal phone'. He advised me that he had retired 2 years prior. To this day, all records are still listing him as my agent...wth?!
Customer service has failed me with a reasonable explanation for this, or directing me to someone who can, or giving me names of agents in my area or region.
All I want is to set down with a knowledgeable agent to review my policy and coverage.
After 24 years, 10's of thousands of $$ paid in premiums, I don't think this is too much to ask.
All clients deserve and are entitled to this RESPECT!!
