The Progressive Snapshot review discount is one way that motorists can save money on their car insurance. It is an electronic device you plug into your car that monitors how many miles you drive, the time of day you do most of your driving, and how often you brake suddenly. Using Snapshot will not cause your rates to go up, but it can result in as much as a 30% savings. For some the question comes down to whether the savings is worth giving up their personal privacy, but the fact is that Snapshot data is kept in strictest confidence. The only time the information gathered using Snapshot will be used against you is when doing is required by law, or when you request the information to be applied to a claim or court case. By default, the information is only used to help the insurance company determine customized rates based on your personal driving habits. It can cause your rates to go down dramatically, but will not be used to increase what you are already paying. When you enroll in Progressive Snapshot, the insurance company will send you a device and instructions on how to install it in your vehicle. Once that is done, your driving habits are monitored for mileage, sudden stops and the times of day you are driving the vehicle. The device does not store your actual driving course or destinations, and cannot be used to find out where you go. After the Snapshot device has been in place for a month, you can access your Progressive account on their website to determine the potential savings achievable through the Progressive Snapshot car insurance discount. To find out how that savings compares to the insurance premiums offered by other companies, compare it against free online auto insurance quotes available on free websites such as this. A 30% maximum savings is quite a bit, but you never know how the final premiums will stack out until you've gotten comparisons from other companies.
