There are several outside animals that love to settle in people’s homes, and when given the opportunity they will destroy one’s house. However, a property policy does not cover such damage should an animal come into one’s home and cause havoc. Some of the animals that can come to one’s house and cause damage include:

Chipmunks and squirrels
These two animals love the attics. Chewing is their hobby hence they will chew on anything they come across including the house, ducts, wires, pipes and others once they find their way to the attic. Squirrels always run about above the eaves or on the ceiling which is so disturbing. However, the chewing is the major problem. If squirrels happen to chew on electrical wires, this could bring about actual fire hazard.

Groundhogs
Groundhogs, also called woodchucks are good diggers. They dig under the house as well as the deck and remove soil which can affect the foundation of a house. In addition to this, they eat the vegetables that one plants in their gardens.

Bats
Bats are noisy as well as unsettling at night and dawn as this is the time they are flowing in and out. Nonetheless, the major problem with bats is the urine and droppings that they leave behind. This adds up if the bats are many. The urine and droppings corrode metal and wood, and when the weight of the droppings is too much, they can bring down the ceiling.

Raccoons
Raccoons are well known for their mischievous. They can cause unimaginable damage to a house such as

  • Cause ductwork to rip apart while they are having fun or trying to find someplace to sleep
  • Cause insulations to trample down or become stiff
  • Chew on wires
  • Cause insulations on pipes to tear up including the insulation paper off the walls
