Your question was about keeping your car insurance, although your drivers license may expire and you would need two weeks to get it replaced. Yes, you can keep your valid car insurance policy although your license may expire. However, you are not to drive your car with an expired driving license. Due to the fact that you are only looking to be out of your vehicle for two weeks. Just make your payment and get your license as quickly as possible.

If it would be longer than two weeks, I would say call your insurance company and explain the situation. If for some reason, there is a hold up with getting your license replaced, call and explain the situation to your car insurance company, I am sure they would be glad to help you. If nothing else, most cat insurance agencies would be glad to put a hold on your insurance, or allow a spouse to continue to carry the coverage while you are getting your license renewed.
