My mother and our family can't afford to care for her. What happens if I refuse the nursing home from discharging her?

My mother had entered a nursing home following a fall and subsequent hip surgery. The nursing home has attempted to provide rehabilitation services but it does not seem like she will be able to walk on her own anymore. She has reached the max number of days allowed by Medicare and now the nursing home is trying to make her lave. She doesn't have any savings and I do not have the ability to support her. Can I refuse to accept the discharge from the nursing home? If so, what will happen?
