1. I have had a mostly wonderful experience over the many years I have used his services. He is patient and takes the time to explain things clearly. He doesn’t hassle us too much about coming in for meetings and never tries to hard-sell. However, whenever i have called to ask for information about filing a claim – i.e. actually using the service I’m paying for – everyone in the office flips on a dime. Suddenly, everyone who was so nice and helpful turns into Mr. Hyde. They are short to the point of rudeness if I even call to ask if something might be covered. Luckily, I haven’t had to file too many claims over the years. Their prices are great, especially with so many discounts for length of time and multiple policies, so I haven’t thought about leaving.

2. I have had State Farm insurance since I began to drive nearly 30 years ago. When I moved to Toledo for college, I began working with Rex Sims. I bought my first home at age 19 and have worked with his office ever since. Rex is fantastic in person and on the phone when I have questions or need to make policy changes. The only time I have a problem with him or his office staff occurs when I call with questions that might lead to a claim. As soon as mention anything that might lead to them having to deal with a payout, it’s like someone flipped a switch. The kind, helpful demeanor switches to brusque and resistant. So, I guess that my overall experience would be that he and his staff are excellent right up to the point where I might actually need their services.
