I was unhappy with a previous State Farm agent who had told me that in order to lower my rate on auto insurance, I would need to buy renter’s insurance, which was unnecessary to me, as I live with my partner for 20 plus years and don’t rent. I bought it anyway to lower my rate, and they made mistakes in billing and somehow had staggered the billing dates of the rental and the car insurance and I was continually getting bills in the mail, with rates changing all the time. I am the type of person that just wants to pay their bill and be done with it. Getting all these bills really irritated me, so I called State Farm and they suggested I change agents. I picked this agent because he was close to my address, and while it was certainly potluck going with him, I have been very very happy with his customer service, his kindness, and that of his office staff including his wife. He truly has a family business, and has made all the billing very easy for me. I no longer have to have renters insurance and my rates have not changed. I suspect there was some type of incendiary motivation for dumping that on me by the previous agent. I have 3 sons who live with me, and all of them have used Howard Palmer for their auto insurance as well. They are all very happy with Howard Palmer, their rates, and the customer service they have received. We are the type of people who expect a decent rate, We want to pay the bills and get the product with no hassles. We don’t expect the insurance agent to be our best friend, but we do expect him/her to be cordial and helpful. We have found all that in Howard Palmer.
