Our experience has been OK.
Our experience has been pretty typical of what one would expect from an insurance agent. I think my wife’s parents got their insurance here and she had her car insurance through them so we just continued on with them after we were married. I’ve not had much contact with them other than maybe one trip to their office. It’s been several years now and I’m not even sure why we went to the office. My guess it was to sign documents. Other than that our only contact is when we receive the bill which we pay through the State Farm website. The price charged seems reasonable as compared to what other friends and family have told me they pay for insurance and being able to pay online is easy and convenient.

We seldom speak to him personally and only hear from his staff.
I only recall meeting our agent once, early in my marriage. My husband was already using him, so I insured my car with him so we could get the multi-line discounts for 2 cars and the house. He seemed nice, not too pushy. Of course, like any insurance agent, he tried to address any other needs we might have, namely life insurance. We declined. We haven’t laid eyes on him since, because we try to handle all of our insurance needs through the State Farm website. We haven’t seen him in about 20 years. Sometimes working with his office is frustrating. I’ll attempt to make a change in our coverage, such as raising our deductibles. Then I’ll get a message saying that the change has to be approved with his office first. The next day I’ll get a call from someone on his staff, advising against the change. I’ll have to assure them that we do have the funds to meet the deductible and we want it raised. I do understand that he doesn’t make as much money when our premiums are lowered, but it should be understandable to his office that we’re not interested in paying more than we have to. When I dropped comp/collision on my van that was about 10 years old, I got the same thing. His staff called and tried to talk me out of it. He never calls himself. In the end, they do as we say, but it’s a hassle each time. Of course, if we want something changed that will cost us more money, it’s accepted immediately, with no hassles and no return phone call needed before the change will be implemented. About once a year we get a form letter, advising us to contact him to review our coverages. We never do.
